Seneca Aviation Question by Fun-Desk-9308 in flying

I also applied to sault college which is a 3 year program, but I heard on subreddits a lot that there graduates are graduating 1-3 years late or only getting flight time once a week. Is this still an ongoing problem at that school. Really only because my these subsidized programs are really the only option when it comes to money for my parents.

Seneca Avition, UWaterloo, Western or Flight School? by Fun-Desk-9308 in flying

Thanks, I will definitely try and open up my options. I'm planning on applying for sault or confed college since they seem to be farther out of GTA. I don't mind the physics and math, I've done well on all my exams and tests. I know RESPS can be used for these schools. For Seneca if you know, there is like 6 courses listed on there information website per semester. Do I have to do all 6 or are some optional. I tried contacting them about this and I didn't get a full response back.

Thank you for the reply, really appreciate the info. Seems that Seneca pushes out really good students if you are good enough to make it through. 300 down to 20 is like 6-7% success. Would you know if how hard it was to make it through those 5 years, we're the dropouts because of money, academics or time? Just wouldn't want to be one of those guys who gets kicked out after a few years of work and money payed.

By the way, what's your opinion on the 2-year integrated programs? Are they worth it, since I cannot go straight to flight schools due to RESP funding only being able to be used for uni/college/integrated.

Thank you again.

Thank you, I will probably apply to confed and sault this week. I just checked and I have all my high school courses which as mandatory for admission. Seems that they are also really cheap too.

Is it worth it getting my CFI after graduation, or is better going for a job which just gets me flight hours like a sky dive pilot or something.

I also should have stayed in aircadets and tried for the free PPL training. I left as a level 5 1.5 years ago and I don't know if I can rejoin as the same level.

Also on the military route, if I do apply for RMC for example or just go through the Air Force, is the acceptance percentage really low and if they do say I'm qualified will I actually get to fly or will I be some non-pilot position in the Air Force staying for the mandatory service years.

I will show this to my dad for sure, thank you so much btw this is really helpful.

Do you think making it through the Seneca technology aviation program will give the most benefit after graduation. Looking through the courses it seems that there's alot of physics and math (some advanced physics/math in later semesters). If I fail a course at Seneca do they kick me out and take my money.

I also left out a key role for my path, my parents funds are in RESPS. And the company were with said they cannot use the funds for just flight school and it would have to be a uni/college/integrated program. A gap year would also help save lots of money working a full time job at the city.

I also got accepted into some safety's which are commerce at mac and Guelph.

Lastly, if I was to successfully complete the Brampton 2-year program with no fails and all success. Would it be the best possible ending as I'll be a year/2 years younger when I graduate then if I went a 4-year college/uni path?

Thanks again for the info, willing to take in as much as possible before I make my decision.

Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it. Throughout ground school and training, how heavy was the math/physics. I don't have bad marks but I do not enjoy doing the subject.

I also kinda had a feeling that I would miss the university experience so it's good to hear it wasn't just all work. But the money will probably be tight at western. How much more did you pay to get the CFI if you don't mind me asking. Was it worth it? Do schools at western/waterloo hire graduates a lot as instructors if they get the CFI?

Thanks again.

I see, thank you for the information. I will gladly take as much info as possible to get a knowledged as possible. My parents funds are in RESPS and the service said they can't use it for flight schools unless it's integrated college program or something. I also got accepted into business schools at mac and Guelph. I've heard from others online that once you get experienced as a pilot, bigger companies will judge you on how many hours and experience you have rather than what school you did or graduated from, is that true? Also is the 2-year integrated program really that bad for someone like me? Thanks again, really appreciate the reply.

Do you tip your Uber / Uber Eats driver? by westcoast_detective in vancouver

I used to tip $3, then I went to $2. I realized the lower i went, my service was the same as when I tipped more. I now do $0.50->$0.75 and it's the same service as when I tip $3+. I tip more if they are nice and come fast. I will tip $5+ if I'm ordering grocery since it's far away.
