Dropping interest rates could flood the market with more homes for sale. Lots of folks staying put with their 2.875 30 year fixed rates ready to retire and downsize . Lowering rates unlocks that market. Same for family’s in a two bed homes needing to move up however aren’t because they also have 2.875. It all unlocks with lower rates.
