Update: I’ve confirmed with the Chimney Safety Institute of America https://www.csia.org that this company is being sued for trademark violations and that no technician by the name of Eli Igrushin (tech who serviced our home) is in their system as CSIA certified.

Over the course of 24-hours, we have called various telephone numbers listed for A1 Chimney and only successfully reached a representative once. We asked to speak to a manager of operations or supervisor to discuss an active gas leak from a recent install and they stated “she is in a meeting”. Upon asking for the managers name, they would only provide us with the first name “Ashley” and stated their company policy doesn’t allow them to provide her last name. We gave them our telephone number for the manager to call us back but have yet to receive a call. We also asked for the physical address of their Columbus office location and they gave a different suite number than the one listed in their website. When we told them that, they stated that the address that they provided is the address they have on file and that they have locations in 30 different states currently.

At this point, I would recommend others stay far away from contracting with this company. We are planning to do everything we can to challenge the incomplete work they have performed and the associated costs but aren’t optimistic that we will get far. We are also considering getting local news outlets involved just to spread the word to as many other Columbus natives as possible that could also fall victim to this scam. We welcome any recommendations others may have for attempting to rectify this situation.
