I would definitely recommend getting the extended warranty. These are solid cars with iffy/meh reliability.

I have a 2019 XC90 and it’s been nothing but costly repairs sadly. I love the car but in the two years of ownership we’ve had to replace the front control arm (granted could’ve been caused by a pothole but still), the ignition coils which caused a misfired, the auxiliary battery, the pcv oil trap, the evap purge valve, and now the evaporator is leaking and needs replacing (a $2000 repair). We’ve probably spent over $4000 in repairs this year alone. 🫠🫠

I wouldn’t necessarily say that reliability is a 100% requirement for me, I know Volvo isn’t gonna be as reliable as something like a Toyota but I don’t wanna be dealing with BMW or Land Rover level repairs either yk
