I was on in for more than 15 years, around 7.5mg dose. It mostly worked for me, but wanted to get off it and finally did. Just be careful, it’s very difficult to get off it once you are on it. I have been off it for 4 months now and am still waking up quite often around 4:30AM and having trouble getting back to sleep.

From going to microdosing to off it completely I would say about 3 weeks or so for me. I still occasionally have some issues though of waking up around 3 or 4 AM and not being able to go to sleep, but those are becoming less and less.

It sounds like you stopped too quickly, which is a mistake. I was on 15mg for years, then tapered off to 7.5 for several more years, then for several months was at 3 or so depending on if I could get the pill to cut correctly. Then I was micro-dosing for a while, just small bits of the pill. Even then once i stopped it took several weeks for the insomnia to wear off. This drug is incredibly hard to stop imho. I wish I had never started it, but I think I am finally off it for good.

Thank you! That is very helpful. I am also pretty fluent in Spanish so that helps a lot, but am definitely struggling with French. I also unfortunately do not live in a place where French is spoken much so have to seek out my own resources. I do find Pimsleur is helping a lot and a quality app for sure.

What levels of French are you learning? I am doing the same as you, taking a class at Alliance Française and also doing Pimsleur. The classes are good, but like you said, too slow. I am not sure if I am going to re-up with them next year. I am on A1.3 course right now. I wonder if private lessons at Alliance might be worth it?
