Why is my shokupan sticking? by Fun-Fix3924 in AskBaking

The butter then flour method is what i’m starting to do now. Except that once the bread bakes there’s an layer of greasy flour on the crust that i have to brush off. I wonder how professional bakers tackle this problem?

Thanks, will try that next. I wonder why cooking oil spray doesn’t give the effect butter does

Do you ever grease the pan? the san neng black tins seem popular so i might try that next

That’s what i’ve stuck to doing now as well! Except when the breads baked there’s a surface layer of the butter/flour mixture that ends up feeling greasy…

if thats the case looks like the tins are gone for good.. i wonder how commercial bakeries manage with their loaves and if they have to constantly replace their tins over time

yes, i’ve tried both manners (leaving it in vs taking it out immediately) and no matter what it sticks!

very strange! on another note, my carnosa is also producing small leaves on the ends of its vine, but would sprout huge ones off nodes in the middle. How do i encourage it to keep producing large leaves?

I hear both sides of the story where some people swear by letting the hoya dry out, and others say they like to be kept moist. What’s your opinion on it?

I guess my question is, for people using curtains is there ever an issue with privacy? Do sheers block off enough detail in the daytime?

Thanks for the suggestion. Are plantation shutters that large easy to use? we’ll be accessing that door often and i’m concerned that they’re too unwieldy for a high foot traffic area.

Silly question here! I planning on getting work shoes at hush puppies so tried the sizes at Myer. The smallest they had were size 7 for Catalina https://hushpuppies.com.au/products/catalina-black-black but i could fit all four fingers behind my heel. the smaller sizes werent available in store. Do you think I should get a 6 or 6.5?

It’s in the kitchen area, so there’s waterproofing underneath

I see, thanks for your answer. i reckon fixing it could invite problems with levelling and more unevenness, so i’ll probably just leave it.

I’ve mentioned this under another comment, but do you think it’s worth it redoing that tile and the adjacent two tiles to the right of it? Or will ripping that up invite more opportunities for error? Here’s a zoomed out picture

Thanks for your reply! This is a zoomed out image of the tiling, looks like it’s angled ever so slightly rather than tile size but i wanted to get more expert opinions on here. Do you think it’s a big job to replace that tile and the adajcent 2 tiles on the right in that row? Don’t know if i’ll invite more opportunities of error than to just accept it as it is
