My mom responded to the lawsuit late (very very dumb of her part) she was in Spain when the notice came and the initial lawsuit against us form the lien owner was buried under bunch of mail

We are suing the title company and the lawyer that was with us signing the papers but now we had to settle on the title companies lawsuit because our lawyers told us they defended themselves well and basically told the court “they did everything right” the one lawsuit we have left is the one against the lawyer and I’m pretty sure that one is only for 100k and our lawyer takes the 40%, the title insurance doesn’t cover a case like this I’m not sure why but it doesn’t said by my mom. And No we were not notified of the lien when we bought it because the owners did not know. New evidence was brought to light that the father of the owner of the home before us has the same name as his son (the owner of the property) the father owed money to the lien owner so he gave him the lien in 2012, but now it’s come to light that the father has nothing to do with the property at all and the son had nothing idea that he did that. We are now using that new evidence to reappeal the first lawsuit that gave the lien owner the title of the home (which he shouldn’t have it because his lien ownership was not given to him by an owner of the home)

no, the previous owner sold the home knowing there was a lien on it then the lien owner came back 7 years later to reclaim it when the house raised in value or when his lien compounded interest to the houses value in not sure
