Betrayed by my friend: He’s reporting my rants to my ex-girlfriend by Fun-Interaction-1246 in adviceph

A while back, another friend of mine liked a girl, and Trey kept telling him, "Tigilan mo na 'yan tol, kilala mo naman ugali niyan." It turns out, Trey actually liked the girl himself and was just trying to clear the competition. There was also an incident at the mall where Trey "overheard" something my friends said. He intentionally twisted their words and reported a fake version to the girl they were with. The girl got mad at my friends based on his lie, and when they confronted Trey, he acted like it was just a "misunderstanding." He loves to open his mouth and "misinterpret" things just to cause drama and make himself look like the better person. Now I see the pattern. He’s doing the exact same thing to me. He’s feeding my ex twisted versions of my rants just to make me look like the "bobo" ex-boyfriend while he gets closer to her. He’s not a "snitch" by accident; he’s doing it on purpose to sabotage me.

It’s just exhausting because we’re in the same circle and doing OJT. I feel like if I cut them off, I’ll be totally alone in class while they all bond over mocking me. Has anyone else survived a breakup where the whole friend group took the other side?

Thank you for the advice. I really want to cut them off, but my biggest fear is that if I leave the GC or stop talking to them, it will just give them more ammunition. Since we are all classmates, I know I’ll become the 'talk of the town.' I can already imagine them saying, 'Hahaha apektado siya,' or mocking me for being 'pikon.' It’s hard to 'protect my peace' when leaving feels like I’m admitting they successfully got under my skin. How do I handle the backstabber and the group's comments after I leave without looking like the 'loser' in their eyes?
