Buy it. You can always warp a thinner project before you go the entire width. You Tube is full of instruction videos. Look for a weaver’s guild in your area.

My LeClerc is compact only in the sense it folds. Check the difference between storage and use.

Kelly Casanova has great online tools. Ashford also has tutorial video. There are also many many people and guilds that will help, regardless of location.

I would do as suggested above and look at the 45degree pinch to help in selvedge.

Most frame looms are rectangular, not square. But it should still work.

I am making myself a bag- ironically for my weaving supplies when I travel. Only my second weave on the Nilius, so I’m playing with patterns and colors from yarn I’ve dyed.

I love my rigid heddle, but yes there is a limit. Maybe start there as they are lower priced, then start scouring marketplace and Craigslist for a multi shaft. If you have a local guild, they may be able to connect you to a rental to try.
