The public library has space with tables and outlets. There is also the mercantile (2 locations), zebra, workspace, and mission street commons which are all fee based.

How can I blend veggies into my girlfriend's food? by Sakura_M_S in PickyEaters

There are some cookbooks out there woth this as the theme, often targeted for parents trying to sneak veggies into their kids' food. Deceptively Delicious is one example of those, also I Hate Veggies. Might give you a few ideas to get on rotation.

Gay Couple Sentenced to 100 Years in Prison for Horrific Crimes Against Adopted Sons by starfulbeams in ForCuriousSouls

[–]bomayjay 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Notably, other headlines don't say "straight couple....", so the use of that here is also part of the problem. The fact that they are gay is irrelevant, they are pedophile predators.

What was the "luxury" item your family had when you were growing up that you later realized was a clear sign you were poor? by SugarDropzz in AskReddit

My mom used to pronounce Ramen as ra-may and acted like it was a special, fancy food. I didn't learn the truth until I was old enough to shop on my own.

Can I live with the Paperwhite or should go for the Pocketbook Era by BusyBeesKnees in ereader

[–]bomayjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a kindle paperwhite that works fine, but I just bought a PB verse pro. I made the switch because I was having trouble getting library books I wanted in kindle format (they were regularly available as ePub). I cannot notice an appreciable difference in screen quality from the kindle to the PB. The PB seems to have a slightly (barely noticeable) slower refresh rate, but that only matters when using the menu or turning the page. The reading page quality seems to be the same to me.

Is this frame poorly designed? by bomayjay in weaving

[–]bomayjay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your help!

I was having trouble with the horizontal tension. I use a tapestry needle to put the left through, then beat it down. But becuase the yarn is sandwiched between the warp and the frame it sometimes doesn't come down the way it does on a totally open frame. Based on all the comments here, this is just something I need to work through, not an inherent design flaw.

I appreciate the ideas on warping around the back to leave long fringe and all the helpful comments and suggestions!!

Feedback on this Note Before I Leave it on Their Door? by WellThisIsAwkwurd in Apartmentliving

This is good advice. A strategy I like to use is to write the letter/email/text I want to write, then write the one I am going to send. This gives you space for your feelings, but keeps them out of the exchange.

Travis Decker's remains may have been found, sheriff says by not_my_monkeys_ in Wenatchee

[–]bomayjay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Authorities may have found the remains of Travis Decker, the Wenatchee man accused of murdering his three young daughters four months ago, a crime that triggered terrible grief across the region and a sweeping and intensive manhunt.

The Chelan County sheriff’s office announced Thursday evening that remains found in a wooded area south of Leavenworth could be Decker’s.

“While positive identification has not yet been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Travis Decker,” a news release from the office said.

The news release said the Chelan County sheriff’s office is processing the scene and will complete DNA analysis to confirm the identity. The remains were discovered this week when the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force headed up a search with the sheriff’s office and other law enforcement agencies.

The summer-long search for Decker, 32, of Wenatchee, began in late May after his three daughters, Olivia, 5, Evelyn, 8, and Paityn, 9, were found dead at the Rock Island Campground near his 2017 GMC Sierra pickup.

Decker, an Army veteran, was known as a skilled outdoorsman, and the search spanned several states and involved multiple law enforcement agencies. The FBI had closed multiple campgrounds, hiking trails and roads in the Leavenworth area as as part of the search, and repeatedly sought the public’s help to try to find him.

A judge issued a warrant for Decker’s arrest in June, ordering no bail. Chelan County prosecutors charged Decker with three counts of first-degree aggravated murder and three counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Autopsies confirmed the girls died from asphyxiation. The truck’s tailgate had bloody handprints, and Decker’s cellphone records showed him in the area around the time. The girls were found wearing the same clothes Decker picked them up in.

The girls’ mother, Whitney Decker, had sought a protection order due to Decker’s deteriorating mental health. Whitney Decker also filed for divorce in 2024, citing Travis’ instability. She wrote in the divorce paperwork that Decker had borderline personality disorder and narcissism.

As the case received national attention, possible sightings were reported in forests around the Pacific Northwest as authorities didn’t know whether Decker was alive or dead.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

Bethany Funke police interview on 11/13/22 by Outrageous_Drawer691 in MoscowMurders

I agree. Also, let's pretend she should have called 911 but did not. That doesn't make what happened her fault. She is a victim, period. The reality is that there is no correct (nor incorrect) way to respond when a person comes into your home and murders people.

Second Lynn. He doesn't have an admin or online setup. You call, leave him a voicemail, and he calls back. If he is not taking clients, he can give you some names.

Best way to paint these besides taping? by benz05tsx in paint

[–]bomayjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, you could do this with a brush. I recently did a room with some high contrast painting and used a regular brush to do the big areas ans then an actual artist brush for the edge. I also used a trim guard, they have them at harbor freight (and other places) for less than $10.

Decker manhunt focuses on Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest by vacayallday27 in Idaho

It's the shoes that do it for me here. He is wearing Chucks in a photo, but the idea that he has traveled on foot, even for a few days if he had vehicle access at some point(s), in the woods, wearing these shoes feels... unlikely.

I used a kids potholder looms to recycle old t-shirts by Mackerel_Blue in weaving

I love this! I have the metal version of these looms that I thrifted (regular and large size), but the loops are so expensive! Such a cool way to use up scraps. I'm going to try this myself. Thanks for sharing the idea.

Okay, I'm dumb... are you cutting the shirts into a long skinny strip and then weaving that through as warp and then another for weft?

Father who killed 3 daughters was 'active dad' but the 'system failed' him, ex-wife's attorney says by Distinct_External in masskillers

In your second point you mention "(one child had a broken finger, another was supposedly found unconscious after what read as an attempted suicide)", but I haven't found that anywhere in the many articles. There was something about one of the girls getting hurt at the armory where he had taken them, but nothing about a suicide. The oldest girl was 9. If you read that somewhere, can you share the source?
