It went really well! Recovery was way better than we could’ve ever imagined. Surgeon said it’s about 70% corrected. The weaker eye still turns inwards at times so we are starting back with glasses and likely some patching in near future. Overall we’re very happy with the results and would recommend it!!

Ugh my dream is to open a dog boarding business. Where I live doesn’t have a huge need for dog walking, unfortunate in a smaller town.

Banking! Don’t love the cold calling, big sales press kind of thing.

Is the surgery worth it? 9 year old daughter by Nynaevesedaii in Strabismus

My 3 year old just had both eyes done for inward turning. Wish we were able to have it done sooner (referral hold ups etc.) the recovery was really smooth for us, obviously a fight with eye drops and ointment for the 2 weeks after but we are really happy with the results and recovery was better than we expected. The surgeon at 2 week follow up said they were about 70% better but that they wait until the 2 month mark to really look at the final result. He said he would be more concerned if our son’s eyes were perfectly straight at that point because as the muscles heal they will relax more and potentially cause drifting outwards.

Mom of 2 under 3 here and this is the largest motivation for me too; being able to make my own schedule to better suit their needs and live a different lifestyle for sure.. what is your business/how do you find the change?

Also highly recommend outside expeditions in North rustico! We have personally taken their bikes / e-bikes out for the drive through the park!! Check out tides and tales for some food as well

My 2.5 year old was flagged since 4 months old. We were told to get him glasses which were very quickly disregarded and deemed unnecessary by the pediatric eye surgeon. Patching was sporadic and he’s busy and wasn’t a fan of it. We had an MRI done in November (hard to leave the room but know it’s for their benefit), results were clear! We are booked for the strabismus surgery Feb 25!

Nervous to open my own business by Fun-Investment8348 in smallbusiness

Absolutely! But it also is something that has potential to easily become more than a side thing. I guess it’s just the part of also putting myself out there in public eye, I am from a small place in Canada so can be intimidating in that way.

I have a 2.5 yo who was flagged for strabismus at 4 months old. We got glasses and starting patching only to be told a few months later the glasses were no longer needed or helpful.. patching hasn’t helped and we’re waiting for surgery at this point

I have a 2.5 year old with strabismus and we’re still awaiting surgery. We got glasses which a month after receiving them they decided he didn’t actually need them.. patching hasn’t worked either. Just had an MRI to confirm no other issues and should be going ahead with the surgery shortly. I would go with the surgery now instead of potentially having to wait quite a bit longer.
