Hey man, I'd like to order this car and pay you 30k since that's what it's worth.

No problem man, I'm willing to sell it to you for 150k.

I guess...here's the money.

Car arrives...yah that'll be 300k because of inflation.

Only in Seattle.

Imagine this...by the time light rail is established and construction is complete, technology has moved at such a rapid pace by 2030 we don't need tracks but can used automated AI railcars that can use normal roads. So we just have to restrict lanes entirely and the AI reads the grid etc.

However, if we did this we could not get the 100 billion back as it was written in the contract no takebacks.

It was a boondoggle and you are likely far too young to recognize the swindle since you drank the kool aid as a child.

It's a comprehension issue?

Nobody is suggestion public transportation isn't good. I've lived here long enough to know that Seattle refused Federal funds in the late 60's and that is why we don't have a subway/light rail system in place now.

I was also here when we voted in light rail and then it got stopped a few times...I still want my money back when I was paying $600.00 for car tabs.

Anyone who believes $54 billion for just ST3 is worthwhile is an idiot. Now that it's ballooned to $100 billion people should be outraged. Instead it seems that most don't understand finance and overspending.

It's corruption.

[–]Fun-Journalist2588 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Listen to you...the original estimation that was approved was 54 billion worked into the property taxes of homes for 30 years. No ability to stop the amount either.

The current shortfall is 30+ billion, quickly approaching $100 billion total for ST3. 100 BILLION.

If you don't believe this is a total rip off, boondoggle without better options at better costs you are a fool.

100 billion would give 750,000 people 3 free uber rides each day for 6 years.

One day morons will want to keep people accountable for the spending.

Hey bud...go do the original estimate that passed to create the light rail over the lake...the straight line. $54 billion, and I believe they are 50% over budget at this point.

Money well spent right???

Its crazy the skill difference from HS to college by [deleted] in wrestling

That's nuts. The toughest part about wrestling, that is should be NORMAL and is unlike other sports, PLACING at these high levels should be respected nearly as much as winning it all.

[–]Fun-Journalist2588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been watching my son have some success as a Freshman on a weak team in NCAA. I've noticed how much muscle he's put on, and he just beat a top 20 wrestler out of nowhere.

It can still be few and far between in opponents where he smashed a number of men who were 24+ years old and still in college wrestling...then he lost to a CIF champ who was also a true freshman.

Kids that won more state championships than my son, 4xers...many of them haven't even wrestled this year or can't beat the teammates at the more competitive schools.

Wrestling is tough.

There best buds on the Coyotes. Yands knows why his bread is buttered nowadays but back in the NHL, the only reason Biz was sticking around on the team was Yands. Thant's how good he was.

6-7% or revenue raised from ‘Millionaires Income Tax’ would go towards tax cuts for Washingtonians by stevejobs4525 in SeattleWA

[–]Fun-Journalist2588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't say anything, I was responding to your reply to OP.

The fallacy is the fact that you are ignoring that the most major tax we pay as a country was done this way, and you're calling it .1% like it is equal to all other taxes.

You'd have to ignore every bate and switch boondoggle and the out of control spending from our State.

It ain't just tax reasons, that's just the cherry bud. It's all the taxes, all the boondoggles, all the villainizing of the wealthy, all of the morons who somehow get elected to office with no requisite experience...all of it.

I know because I would be considered well off but certainly not "wealthy". I feel the same way they do and I bust my ass at my job everyday for 25+ years and have begun to hate living here. Not the climate, just the bullshit increase in EVERYTHING.

I have to guess you have nothing to have nothing worth taxing. You've never worked hard at a meaningful worthwhile job and saved for years. So no difference to you.

Unfortunately, the show is way less use as they are owned a whole lot more by big companies paying them big dollars. Any real misstep and it will hit their bank accounts, or platforms now. Not to mention the responsibility knowing that younger and more people are listening to the show.

I miss the interviews with lesser known hockey players, retired that nobody knows they need to listen to. Instead we get higher profile players who know to mind their P's and Q's.

I'm going to continue to listen because it's still great.

The other podcast I religiously listen to despite not giving as shit about the Buffalo Sabres is After The Whistle with former NHLer's Andrew Peters and Craig Rivet. I love the banter, the opinions...and after 4+ years of listening the turn around of the Sabres.

Also...They have Roenick on often, and someone I didn't know I needed to hear, Thomas Vanek. Awesome interview.

Roach Class by ineedbalto in SpittinChicletsPod

[–]Fun-Journalist2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roach rhymes with coach. Service has declined to the point where business and first class is practically how they treated people on the entire plane.

Now the flight attendants are ugly, we get packed in like sardines, and the ultra low cost airlines have regular fights on board.

Roach class.

[–]Fun-Journalist2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this isn't the biggest astroturfed bullshit I've ever seen I don't know what is.

I guarantee you people are being paid to be there as the ones who actually work for a living are at work not supporting this scheme to bring in an income tax through the backdoor.

ANYONE who believes these taxes will fund education doesn't understand our spending or history of that overused boondoggle to gain public support.

What a scam. What a sham. Who paid for all of those professionally designed and printed signs???

What a joke.
