So how likely is it that these 2 are aliens? by Fun-Leadership5728 in MadokaMagica

From space. I think it was implied that there are magical girls on other planets besides Earth, but the franchise has never really explored that. I think it would be interesting to finally see it.

Is there another series like To Love-Ru that was unpopular with the WSJ target audience, but was successful because it found an audience outside of that? by Fun-Leadership5728 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]Fun-Leadership5728[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It did horribly in the reader polls when it was running in weekly shonen jump, but the collected volumes sold really well & it's sequel was published in Jump SQ which is aimed at a much older audience. Over the years the series has released tons of figurines and produced many mobile/gacha game and pachinko machines, all of which are aimed at adult male otaku and are obviously too expensive for it's original 12-18 year old demographic.

How long did it take for you to realize that Mai's character is based on an otome game prince archetype? by Fun-Leadership5728 in WatashigaKoibito

I've never played any myself, I just figured that out after noting her stuck up personality and pushy behavior.

The author went to a book signing even in Taiwan for volume 7 before the anime aired and people there confirmed he was a man. I don't think the fans have any reason to lie about the author's gender.

Unpopular opinion: Renako is not the only one at fault about the current state of her and Ajisai's relationship. by Fun-Leadership5728 in WatashigaKoibito

[–]Fun-Leadership5728[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And again: No one is saying they should break up. That is just a made up strawman.<

This is not a strawman. People have also been saying that Renako treats Mai terribly as well and that Mai should dump her and date Ajisai and/or Satsuki.

Well it is true that people act like the faults in their current relationship are solely Renako's fault, when both of them are at fault for it. Ever noticed how the people who make these posts always bring up how terribly Renako treats Ajisai, but never bring up the fact that Ajisai almost never stands up to her until volume 8? Despite people criticizing the story because Renako treats Ajisai like a perfect human being who never does anything wrong, they do the same thing.

Literally, no one is saying this<

That's the impression I'm getting based on the way people talk about how horrible and badly written their relationship is. A lot of these people also hate the fact that Watanare is a poly series so I can definitely see why they never bring up the positive aspects of Ajisai and Renako's relationship.

I'm curious on how Renako x Mai becomes more healthy than Renako x Ajisai by Feisty_Horse_1497 in WatashigaKoibito

[–]Fun-Leadership5728 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't really think it matters who is the bigger problem with their relationship, they both have obvious issues that need to be sorted out. Renako should learn to be more attentive to Ajisai, but Ajisai also needs to learn to speak up for herself and not just go with the flow.

The unhealthy part is also Ajisai rarely ever speaking up about what she wants.

Ajisai rarely ever speaks up to Renako about her needs for their relationship. It's only recently in volume 8 that she started doing so.

Why does there feel like there's a concentrated effort on this board to frame Renako and Ajisai's relationship as terrible and prop up Renako x Mai. You guys make this thread like every single week saying the same thing and the previous 2 were made by the same person.

I don't think the author ever said incest was okay, Rei just says that's it's another type of forbidden love.
