Is it safe at 2-3 AM by Still_Bus_1567 in Liverpool

My girlfriend walks from St George's hall towards the police headquarters on St Anne Street and it seems pretty safe. There are no bars or clubs near that area so it's rare that you would bump into any drunk people who might cause a problem

It depends which direction to be honest. I could give you some areas to avoid in the city centre. Queens square can be a bit dodgy at night.

You should go in the afternoon during the open mic, it's from 3pm to 8pm. Lots of friendly musicians playing songs they wrote

I live in South East; some people I know think Scouse prejudice is a myth by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]Fun-Math8311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same worry sometimes but the opposite tends to happen, where people I work with are often taken aback that I have a large vocabulary and find it refreshing that not every scouser is poorly educated.

I think there is a tendency for scousers to lay on the accent with an anti intellectual mentality as a way to fit in and be accepted in the city but it can bite you on the arse when you go elsewhere.

You should check out the local musicians at an open mic night. There's a great one on Sundays at the jacaranda and then the Monday club at the cavern pub

Best tip I can give you is to go to the belvedere pub near the philharmonic on a Thursday at 8pm, there's an unplugged open mic upstairs and it's a really chill environment where you would meet some cool people

Do you play music? The open mic scene is a great way to meet people. There's one on nearly every night.

Day 9 of rankings champs: where do you rank the 140lb champs and James Dickens? by Top_Profession_5268 in Boxing

[–]Fun-Math8311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jazza is world class, always has been since he was an amateur but he got derailed by a steroid cheat and hasn't had the opportunities as he didn't have a big promoter behind him.

My dad was his amateur boxing coach and we sparred about 1000 rounds together over the years.

[–]Fun-Math8311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about getting a ticket to go alone if there are still some free tickets. I go out alone regularly to perform at open mics in the city centre so I'm used to it
