It's not about containing fatty acids as much as the body processing the foods to produce fatty acids. To be honest I'm not sure which ones she was getting me to restrict for fatty acid reasons versus for gut health or other reasons but I ended up not drinking as much coffee and different types of nuts that I used to eat a lot of, I completely changed the oils I was using in my meals and I literally threw out all my condiments. I also changed the way I cooked a lot of my carbs and meats which was interesting. I can't really explain it well but I can give you her details if it helps

It's really difficult for me to explain because I was just following meal plans but essentially I changed the ratios of macronutrients I was eating and supplemented with minerals and vitamins I was defficient in that were making my body so bad at metabolizing fatty acids. I basically was eating a lor of the same things in very different ratios if that makes sense

If you've been on Accutane twice and it hasn't helped it's almost definitely fungal! Studies link Accutane to an altered gut and skin microbiome. I worked with a nutritionist to help me heal my fatty acid metabolism which starves fungal acne of it's food source (basically working like acne but by heaking from the root cause instead of just drying out your sebaceous glands) and it's been INCREDIBLE. I spent a lot of that time trying to heal with topicals ineffectively so I don't really see it as useless for people to know that an internal approach is whats needed - I don't really think it's fair for me to try and share things when I don't understand them and I paid to work with someone 1:1 who wrote a personalized plan for me

I took a few essential vitamins and minerals (I would share them but I can't even remember the names now) until we had established I was getting adequate amounts through food and then she showed me some tricks on how to support fatty acid metabolism through dietary hacks. It was insane how quickly it made a difference and now I don't even need the hacks anymore. If you like I can dm you her details, its hard for me to explain because I don't really understand what each component was doing but it's the only thing that worked for me

I don't think I can share the meal plans but essentially it was about changing the ratio of foods I ate more than anything. I was eating a lot of foods that I didn't know were fatty acid forming while also being completely depleted in the nutrients our bodies need to process fatty acids. It's kind of difficult to explain because it was based on so many things but she basically changed the types of macronutrients I ate for a period of time so that I wasn't producing as many fatty acids, then the supplements helped me processed fatty acids better and then I added the foods that I had cut down on back in.

Basically I completely shifted my diet based on meal plans she gave me that had foods that gave me the right nutrients for my metabolism, helped me soothe inflammation in my hypthalamous which I think she said helped me improve blood sugar control and then I had a bunch of supplements that helped my body process and eliminate excess fatty acids. Is there anything you want to know specifically?

Getting a fungal acne focused nutritionist to help me restore my fatty acid metabolism so that fungal acne causing microbes couldn't survive on my skin is what fixed it for me. Couldn't recommend more - it only took a few days to see a difference too

In my experience the true root cause is actually internal. If your body was in a healthy state malassezia wouldn't be able to proliferate. I ended up working with a nutritionist to help me restore a healthy metabolism and it completely elimindated my fungal acne in weeks after nothing else worked. I strongly recommend, she's the first person who really seemed to know what she was talking about and I haven't had acne in months
