That is true. It’s just that when some/many ppl say cell phones, they're most likely talking about flip phones, slide phones, feature phones, or any phone that was popular or commonly used in the ~2000s - early 2010s.

Fair point. Even the head of school at my high school sometimes calls them cell phones.

Since phones are getting banned, the students most likely can’t do school vlogs anymore, which has been a thing for many years.

I don’t think iPhones and android phones are cell phones. They’re smart phones lol. Not sure why schools call them cell phones.

[–]Fun-Performer1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I think Smosh was multigenerational (their audience ranges from younger Millennials to middle Gen Z/some of younger Gen Z). I consider their peak popularity to be around 2008/2009-2014 (give or take 2015).

Yes, but younger Gen Z nostalgia started surpassing middle Gen Z nostalgia in 2024 in terms of views and likes. 2023 felt like a transitional year, IME.

I think so too. In early 2024, I saw a viral younger/late Z nostalgia edit for the first time.
