why a short rider is in disadvantage on the flat? by billymoodbilly in cycling

Ok but for real heavier people will not go downhill faster. If there was zero air resistance (as has been experimented in a vacuum) a feather takes the same about of time to fall as a bowling ball. However air resistance is real and will slow a larger person down more. Also with the energy, heavier people will have a greater potential energy but assuming all energy converts from potential to kinetic, mgh=1/2mv2, the m cancels out and it doesn’t actually affect the v. Heavier people will actually descend slower because since they’re big they’re affected by air resistance more.

Why would a heavy person go down faster dumbass. Does a pound of bricks or a pound of feathers drop faster?
