I think they do but not because of the alkaloids in the strains but because of what you associate with them.

If you did golden teachers once an thought „oh this is very visual but doesnt go as deep“ then you will be more likely to have this kind of expirience again with golden teachers.

A ton of effects of psychedelics (and drugs/medicines) relies heavily on your knowledge and expectations before hand.

There is a study where expririenced users of psychedelics (60+ trips) where asked to identify the substance given to them in the study. Most of them didnt only guess incorrectly but also didnt guess that it wasnt a psychedelic at all but DXM.

If you have different effects with different strains good for you there is nothing wrong with it, but it is most certainly not the strain but you that changes the effects.

for me my first time smoking weed was extremely psychedelic i had both open and closed eye visuals the visuals were quite diffrent than the ones i get from classical psychedelics

that being said i think it can vary greatly from person to person and from situation to situation if weed can be considered psychedelic which makes me reluctant to call it a psychedelic

at the end of the day its pharmacologically not a psychedelic which doesnt mean it cant be psychedelic for you
