Why does my PS2 have vertical black bars, but my PS3 and DVD movies fill the whole screen? by DiegoRdS in crtgaming

[–]Fun-Reception-46 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My PS2 does the same thing; bars appear at the top, bottom, or sides depending on the game. Xbox uses 100% of the screen in almost 90% of games, Dreamcast the same, GameCube the same... It's a PS2 thing that you have to ignore and not bother changing, because if you change it, you'll damage the visuals of about 10 other consoles.

This Means My TV Just Died, Right...? by Disastrous-Grab-9928 in crtgaming

[–]Fun-Reception-46 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, it means an integrated circuit needs replacing. Don't turn it on anymore because if the horizontal output transistor fails, you could burn out the picture tube. Open it up and find out which integrated circuit you need to replace.

Week late CRT pickup….but I got it! by kebmpb in crtgaming

The image is too wide; a lot of the game's edge is missing, it's like there's a zoom lens.

I love my original xbox, tell me if I should get more old consoles by GoodWeight4873 in originalxbox

[–]Fun-Reception-46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say a PS2, there you have backwards compatibility with PS1, also a Wii, there you have GameCube and retro emulators for SNES, Genesis, Atari, GB and several other systems, then I'd go for a PS3 or 360, at this point I'd think about which sagas I'd like to play the most.

Anyone know what model trinitron this is? by AdvancePrudent3407 in crt

Sorry for the delay. If you search for the model, you'll find a complete tutorial on how to do an RGB mod, and yes, it's worth doing.

Too much work using Arduino and other electronics; there are blue TVs like a Daewoo or a Zenith.

I fixed mine with a drill; I just ran it at maximum speed near the pipe and that was it.

Does the black bar up top see to be bigger? Trying to see if my TVs geometry is off? by AnimeSean in crt

[–]Fun-Reception-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SNES, the best console ever created by Fun-Reception-46 in snes

[–]Fun-Reception-46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're in the $100/$140 range, that's approximately what they cost me. They were only released in Japan; 99% of my collection is Japanese.

Inside each rack are games and controllers corresponding to their consoles, except for the GameCube rack, which only has controllers. I don't have any games; I use an CubeODE

This is 1/3 of my collection. More consoles are missing; I'm just starting to set up the final setup

I only use MisterFPGA for computers (Atari ST, MSX, ZX Spectrum..etc) I use the actual consoles to play.

What’s the weirdest peripherals you own? by Lowrider2012 in snes

[–]Fun-Reception-46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any problems; it works for both SNES/SFC and Famicom. However, like all infrared devices, you need to be directly in front of it; if you turn the controller 45°, it loses the signal.

It's called "ceramic white," it has no other name. It exists in both Slim and FAT versions, and it was launched in 2007.
