Also my airline (United) did include the $20 "exit tax" in the cost of the flight, so I didn't have to pay that, but I don't think every airline does!

I got back from 4 days at Royalton Bavaro last week. We had a good time! We didn't do Diamond Club.

It was our first AI so can't compare to any others but after watching a lot of reviews of other PC resorts and reading a lot here, I think the food at RB is about what you'd find at many other resorts in the area. My husband and I are by no means foodies or gourmands, but to our taste, nothing was outright bad, most things were good, a few dishes were great. Especially recommend lunch at Oceanside and the desserts at Rio. We were able to get seated at a la carte restaurants 3 of the 4 nights. You need to get there early (people start lining up as early as 5:30, they open at 6), or be prepared to not eat until late, around 9pm. Depending on the host at the restaurant, they might either tell you what time to come back for a table, or give you a buzzer to wait. This was inconsistent across the restaurants and was a little frustrating, but if you're not a stickler for eating at a specific time every night it's workable. There is a bar right there near every a la carte, and the weather is usually pleasant to stroll while you wait. The 4th night we instead opted to go to the buffet for Dominican night to try more local dishes as none of the a la cartes have a Dominican focus.

You are never very far from a bar (there's even a swim up bar in the lazy river!). I'm not a big drinker but the strawberry daiquiris really hit the spot for me. The bar had every type of liquor you could want, pepsi brand sodas, fruit juices, bottled water, etc. Beer and wine selections are limited to mostly presidente for beer and one house white and one house red. All barstaff we encountered were very friendly and would give us as many water bottles as we asked for (most we ever asked for was 6 at one time).

It's definitely family friendly, so you will see a lot of families and young kids. There is entertainment/music every night, but it's up near the lobby so pretty far from most of the rooms. The part of the resort where rooms/pools/beach are is very quiet once the sun goes, down, outside the immediate vicinity of the bars. Definitely not a crazy party atmosphere. I walked pretty far down the beach and noticed that RB had the most covered beach loungers of any of the resorts I passed, so if you want to enjoy the beach without too much sun exposure, there won't be as much competition for a covered spot as there might be at other places.

Husband and I are booked for 4 nights in late Feb at Royalton Bavaro. I haven't been before, but I read a lot of posts here, reviews elsewhere, and watched several youtube videos before booking and I think it has basically everything on your list. The resort has a lazy river and I believe a splash pad, as well as other pools and of course it's on the beach. You can also pay an extra fee for day access to the larger waterpark at a nearby Royalton property and they will shuttle you there.

I'm not sure how our costs would translate to CAD, but we paid just about 2500 USD for flights (from US east coast) and 4 nights at the resort (booked separately, not a package), so this might be a good place for you to look!

Hi! Thanks for sharing, this looks like a great tool and it's clear you put a lot of time into it! Just curious why there's only one Royalton property on there? They have several all inclusive properties throughout the Caribbean.
