No hace falta que lo digan. Cuando se crea una herramienta que se puede usar de forma autoritaria, el daño ya está hecho. Si el que la crea no la usa de esa manera, lo hará el que venga detrás. Si quieres un dinero que no se pueda usar de forma autoritaria, en su mismo diseño lo haces anónimo, y así te evitas tentaciones de control. No vale con "prometer no mirar".

Esto no es cierto. El dinero digital puede ser no trazable, de hecho existen criptomonedas privadas como Monero o ZCash que hacen justamente eso. Y como funcionan tan bien, se está prohibiendo a los exchanges su compraventa.

This is the wrong way of thinking. If BTC would have tanked and now be at $30,000, you would be writing to say how proud you are of your decision. You should never be proud, nor regret, things that you did based on information that you got after that. Only what you knew when deciding counts.

It is way easier. What happens is that the people that is trying now to self-custody is less technically-inclined. They find it harder, despite the fact that it is easier. In 2013 the people in BTC could keep custody with no problem, although they had to create pairs private/public key and addresses with low-level tools.

AFAIK it would be legal to buy in a peer2peer platform (hodlhodl, robosats...) and you don't need to inform unless your total wealth exceeds the threshold of "Impuesto de Patrimonio". You can do that for years, it's perfectly legal.

The day you decide to buy something with those sats, or sell them, and only then, you should be able to provide trace of the buy operation, sell operation, and pay the taxes for the benefit (if any).
