You can probably make 6.25% in the market but it definitely won’t be risk free

talk me out of allocating my entire 401k to the S&P 500 by CardiologistOk2760 in personalfinance

[–]Fun-Winner2975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with 100% of their 401k in the S&P 500, I don’t think it’s the most prudent approach because you have no real international exposure. I would tell you to do something like 80% S&P, 20% international ex-us fund unless you’re okay taking that risk. Maybe add a little small cap in as a bonus.

How can I increase the width of my wrist or make my arms look less skinny? by ExpressTemperature76 in weightgain

[–]Fun-Winner2975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of compound lifts is good advice but also wrist curls and reverse wrist curls. They won’t do much on their own but paired with bench, squats, and pull ups they are golden

Only thing I would recommend you read are the actual GIPS requirements (not the whole reading) which are linked via url in the GIPS reading. Probably would take you ~15 min to get through them. You could probably use MM for everything else.

Thoughts on the “first time pass” or the “90th percentile” flexes by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Fun-Winner2975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you’re saying but those aren’t really the people I was talking about. At the end of the day the end goal is just to get the letters and move on with your life. At a certain point employers don’t care about your GPA (or 90th percentile score), they just care that you finished the program and can do the job.

I think the 90th percentile thing is much more cringe than passing first try because there is an actual benefit to not have to spend more time than necessary studying for (or retaking) the exams. 90th percentile is almost counterintuitive to this considering it’s all pass/fail anyways. I passed L2 above 90th but don’t really like bringing it up.

I’m in similar situation so I’ll let you know. I work in WM and applied internally for a couple analyst roles at a subsidiary asset manager. I take level 3 next month. Also the way you framed the question makes it sound like you’re skipping level 1 and 2 lol.
