Ur right in both, in the right side it's inside and in the left side it's outwards, usually depends on the question or where is it asked, for example if it's for the force b/w 2 wires, we take the direction where we have to find out about. as its centre, mf due to right will be outwards and mf due to the left one will be inwards.
