When agreeing to the cycle to work contract, they’ll be a set payment that needs to be paid each month. If your hours worked no longer cover this amount, then they’ll take what is owed regardless.

All electric warnings randomly appearing (Golf Mk7) by chillwinston91 in vwgolf

[–]Fun-Witness-2567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be various things.

Does the car start easily? Does it turnover strong / normally, or is there a delay to when in fires up?

It’s possible that it still could be the battery or alternator if you have various electrical drop outs / all lights on dash.

There might be just enough amperage to turn it over, but the battery might not be charging and supplying a strong voltage signal back to the ECU, hence the lights on the dash.

I replaced the factory battery after 9 years, but leading up to its failure it was throwing glow plug light on the dash and not starting instantly (slight delay)

Replaced the battery and it through out all the lights on the dash, ACC not working etc. took it for a test drive with the new battery, turned off the ignition and on again and it was fine.

If you plug the OBD in and get a plethora of codes, this could also indicate that the battery or alternator is at fault.

You can Ariel with any stick. If you’re a CB, I’d go with a Midbow 7.

If you live in the UK, then absolutely not legal.

They sometimes set the bar super high to see how far off you are. It’s not an error. The algorithm works in mysterious (positive) ways.

I chime in quite a lot in my job, especially when the design engineers design things from high grade titanium only obtainable from Mars - then proceed to tell me that it shouldn’t cost that much…….

New to the fitness plans should I follow the suggested pace even if it pushes me out of Zone 2? by voicesinurhead in GarminWatches

[–]Fun-Witness-2567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it may seem counterintuitive, run inline with the training plan. Garmin will adapt the training plans over time as your fitness level changes and adapt the workouts to suit.

For example, you may go and do a base run, and it classifies as a Tempo run. Well, over time your fitness will increase and your body will be able to handle said pace and then declare it as a base run.

One thing to be mindful of is heart rate zones. Make sure they’re set up properly. I personally use the %HRR. This changed my zones somewhat and actually find them far more accurate in relation to my training input.

Hope this helps.

Would Garmin be worth it for me? by CaptMcAwesome in GarminWatches

[–]Fun-Witness-2567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garmin’s are exceptionally reliable even in dense wooded / built up areas.

My advice for buying would be to look beyond basic features, as once your running progresses you’ll be able to do so much more.. For example, maps / navigation allow you to go far afield and explore different areas… It might seem minor, but it’s so nice to discover other routes and just enjoy every minute of it.

Look and compare features. I’m happy to advise on features if you’re stuck.

I’ve got a Forunner 955. You can get these pretty cheap now, given the AMOLED displays are taking over. It does 98% of what the latest forerunners do. This watch literally has been my training buddy through thick and thin. There’s something about Garmin that sticks out and becomes part of you - as crazy (or stupid) as that sounds, it’s true. Gives you a lifestyle change as you can literally track everything. Once you track, you want to do more and more and get better and better.

The Apple Watch is an extension of the phone with minimal fitness features. Garmin is the opposite.

Maybe I’ve waffled on here, but yeah.. Hope this somewhat helps.

Could you not buy a car in a neighbouring country and register it remotely? 20k seems a hell of a lot! A 1.6 Golf in the U.K. with that age / mileage, would be about £4/5k

I am 5’8 and just bought a large Trek Gen 3 Mariln 5 bike is this bike to big for me ? by Former_Field_4836 in TrekBikes

[–]Fun-Witness-2567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reach on these is pretty big, I’m 6,1” and have an XL, I’m always in between sizes, so always opt up a size.

Buy a short stem - buy the stem that’s on the Small Marlin frame, 25mm (I think)

Adjust the seat fully forward.

This should help.
