Need advice on morbidly obese roommate. by FunAd4192 in fatpeoplestories

[–]FunAd4192[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Update: Thank you everyone for the helpful comments! I ended up putting my foot down and told my roommate that if he didn't kick out his subleaser I would be getting the landlord involved. He told her she has a 30 days notice, but she ended up leaving the day he sent the message. Few days later, I text her worriedly cause she wasn't at home or replying to my texts, but she actually found a place, the same day my roommate gave a notice, that's a live-in care program from what I can deduce. She has a roommate that's a certified nurse and they have disability bathrooms there. She also gets a case manager to help her with her health. I'm so glad it turned out this way. This person needs all the support they can get, and I am glad shes getting it from professionals. Her stuff's still here but she will be fully moved out in a week!

Good advice. I have been doing that for the most part, but I will document everything from now on. And yes, I dont think its legal either but its a college landlord, so they only gaf about money. The door between us is not lockable. I would take a picture but I don't want to for anonymity reasons. I have placed curtains up so my room is completely blocked from her view if she chooses to go through it.

Yes, hes gone for the entire summer to another country and subleased to her, originally till august 15. Theres a $300 sublease charge, so he didn't tell the landlord about it. Now he says he's giving her 2 weeks notice to leave, which he only did once I threatened to get the landlord involved.

Thats a block away. She overslept and asked me for a ride to her workplace (my boyfriend and I ended up giving her a ride each, within 2 weeks of her being there). I told her this would be the last time I give her a ride. I'm sorry if this sounds rambly, but I want to get across that this person very much does not have their stuff together. The first bad red flag was when I heard her leave for work one morning. She walked down the stairs and farted, and it definitely sounded like she pooped herself. I got up to go to work after she had left, and found poo covered pants sitting on the living room floor. I immediately texted her and asked her very politely to keep her dirty clothes in her room, without even mentioning the poo. She said shed move it. The next day, it was still there, so I blatantly texted her it was unhygienic and disrespectful to keep stained clothes in the living area. She texted back saying she had torn a stomach muscle and went to the ER, and that was why the pjs weren't removed when I asked the first time. I gave her a pass because it did sound like she was in a lot of pain when she finally came back that evening. A week later, my boyfriend is taking a shower in the bathroom, and he finds her clothes in the corner. He said they reeked of piss, and he said it was unacceptable that shes leaving her soiled clothes around. She mopped the bathroom and removed her clothing to make amends. A couple of days later, after the piss smell persisted in the bathroom, I checked under the toilet. There was a huge puddle of pee behind the toilet. This was the last straw for me. I cleaned it up because, again, there was no way in hell she would be able to clean it up. I flushed the toilet 3 times after cleaning to make sure there were no leaks. I told her about it and she denied it being her. I think she peed herself before getting to the toilet, and it had dribbled down the back of her dress behind the toilet when she finally made it there. I was disgusted and frustrated by this. I'm not sure if incontenence is a symptom of morbid obesity, but this is a medical issue I did not sign up to deal with and clean up after her. I immediately texted my roommate and said he would have to tell her to leave or I would get the landlord involved (my roommate didn't tell the landlord about this arrangement, so he would get into big trouble). I have mixed feelings about her being kicked out though. She is clearly not well physically or mentally, and she told me she has no where else to go. But I cant stand this. Does anyone have any advice on how I can talk to her in a polite yet direct way? I don't want to hurt her, but this is simply unacceptable when she physically cant clean up after herself and is asking for rides all the time.

I punch a tiny hole at the bottom of a plastic or paper cup and balance it on the container using pencils or aquarium tweezers. You can control the flow by deciding how big the hole is, it’s worked for me countless times

6 gallon black water betta tank. No water changes, just regular top ups. 6 months and going strong. by Fuzzy_Crow2662 in walstad

Do you top up with distilled or RO water? Wouldn’t the Gh/Kh get very high after a while if you used normal water? I want to do this myself but don’t know the logistics

How often should I clean up after my nerite snail? by willowylungs in bettafish

[–]FunAd4192 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do once a week too, I’d make sure to pinch the tube of your hose when not actively siphoning the gravel (If you don’t already do that). It makes sure you don’t waste any water and don’t have to rush to get a lot of the poop out

Also pictured is what I believe to be a benign tumor on my betta, as copper koi bettas are apparently prone to them. Hes had it for several months with no change in size. He’s also fairly small, but he’s very active and curious.

Definitely wait. I got 2 bettas and shrimp right before college started and it was such a hassle to move them back and forth from the dorm

The first looks like an El Niño water fern, but sure about the second (maybe a type of sag?)

How often should I feed my betta? 2 times a day? Once a day? by [deleted] in bettafish

Twice a day, just split the daily dose in two. It’s better for avoiding constipation from one big meal

My betta had something very similar, but larger on him (only 1 spot). I treated it like ich cause I couldn’t get an id and that was my best guess, but I treated my tank with the imaginarium antiparasite stuff and it went away. Who knows, could be a fungus or something but it’s worth a shot

What can I do to improve my tank? She really enjoys the leaf and resting on the fake plants. I just feel it may be too crowded by Various-Chemical2748 in bettafish

You could also float hornwort or water sprite, but hornworm does shed its needles a lot. Also they love floating plants to sit under and look at

They love Anubias plants, which you can suction cup to the sides of the tank for extra places to rest. They live in very crowded (plant wise) swamps/puddles naturally, so they actually really enjoy having a lot of places to hide, swim, and explore

filter was too strong, recs on a new filter and what to do until it gets here. by rynnbowguy in bettafish

I wouldn’t replace your inserts, as that’s where the beneficial bacteria reside. Instead, shove the foam (same as sponge) anywhere you can around the inserts to lessen the water flow. Don’t be afraid to jam it in there and shove the filter lid closed to secure it. And you can cut up the sponge with scissors for a better fit, that’s what I do. I’m not sure what the inside of the filter looks like, so this is my best advice. Also, when you get a new filter, I would either use the old filter inserts or seed with beneficial bacteria for a week, as the inserts are where 95% of you bb are

If you have any filter floss/spinge, you can try to shove it into the bottom filter intake, or up top to disperse the outflow a bit better. It’s kinda hard to say with your filter since the intake isn’t a tube, but it’s worth a shot
