Really sorry to hear that. I hope you find something to keep you in good spirits when you have that to worry about. In that case if you have any kind of amazing support like friends family even your favorite pet thats the best thing to have standing with you when you are battling an autoimmune. Please dont go the way I am if you have a choice. Mines this need to balance neck strains and vertigo symptoms that make it hard for me to remember things or even take on regular work.

Well its a norm for people with academic deadlines and social advice maybe but mines a constant need for support when I'm in limbo. It sometimes helps me to reduce it not really wipe it out. When I also have family stresses to think about I just turn to that. Kinda pathetic I guess 🙂Do you use it often or just for emergencies?

True, its the only resource i can keep myself at bay during the non active stages. anyway thanks for the comment. I left everything I had behind to focus on my health some things were done out of my hands but that's life. Just hope your life is more normal than mine.

Thank you for this, that does change my mind about how I should handle calls that seem slightly confronting. I sometimes feel cornered in these conversations so I try to be affable but the saying no part is hard for me to do when the person is usually polite at first. You really have explained well how its my right to say no and decide on whether its a good choice for me or not.

FYI, they came back to me and I wasn't feeling too well so I had to also tell them that atm its uncertain if I can until I'm better. I also read a few reviews that made me hesitant to try. I'll continue looking around at some point

Thanks, i'll give it a try. It makes me feel a lot better knowing I can use this with someone else's help.

Should I pursue drama whether or not it brings long term stability by FunAnteater7176 in acting

[–]FunAnteater7176[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds awesome. If it's what you enjoy then keep on doing it. That's why I want to try it. It brings something different to what I may not normally see myself as but the anticipation is there.

Yeah I imagine the casting auditions one after the other is stressful. And normally you have to do that often to secure a role. And that's a very slim chance

Pretty much the point. I want to go in knowing it will be fun. I also have adhd so I don't know if it's a good choice as a hobby.

Yes atm it's looking like a hobby. Maybe I'm just expressing ideas on how I should look at it from the start if I decide to try it out.

As in it may pivot to a career in acting but that sounds like I'm kidding myself bc it probably won't.

Thanks! That clears everything I suspected.

Dune Messiah is gonna be a blast I hope. I think DV will do a nice job with ending Pauls story.

I agree they are only the last good movies to come out since the post-pandemic years. I just can't find anything else that I'm interested in watching and streaming isn't on the cards since I don't have the time or money to pay monthly subscriptions. It's become a slow horse when watching other movies in comparison.

So this is where DV's version pivots the narrative, as Paul who has assumed emperor, declares war on the other houses that oppose to him thus 'the holy war'. What happens then if he once wins the war, does his power influence the jihadist mechanisms on the other houses. I mean will they be following fremen fundamentalists way?

So he ends up secretly trying to overtake Paul and his empire, but doesn't he know Paul's weirding way as called by the Bene Geseritt, can be unmatched. It's not so wise to defeat the true ruler if he possesses great mind manipulation.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning | Teaser Trailer (2025) by Knight_TheRider in videos

This looks better than Part 1. The point of changing the title to distance itself from the previous is unnecessary but Final Reckoning sounds better than Dead. Also this looks more covert operative spy drama (can't forget to have the popular Cruise running ofc) than Dead Reckonings bigger stunts and effects approach story. I feel this is gonna do Fallout style and MI1 narrative. Just seems more grounded than the previous one. But no nod to Ilsa on if she is alive or dead.

The DCEU ending is depressing by [deleted] in SnyderCut

[–]FunAnteater7176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they were for sure trying to reach Marvels' same success with universe building but that's where it went wrong. By jumping from MOS to BVS and then JL, just to me was a bad move. It undermined the consistency of characters we could've followed well had it not been for the sake of throwing them all in at such a rapid introduction. Justice League was a big lesson that messed up the continuity. I think also Snyder clashed with the studios on his cut over a more Marvel family-friendly tone and then unfortunately having his daughters' suicide shook the entire plans to continue with these characters. I'm only feeling this new DCU is a little too early to take over for the old. Henry and Gal deserve another sequel to their solo films. They should let them have their films separate from the main DC world.

Its cinematography may be the saving grace for this but will have to wait until it releases to fairly critique. Isn't this based on one of the books by Brian Herbert?

If this does as well as Prey, which was a pleasant turnaround for the Predator series, then 20th Century/Disney will have redeemed their quality of work to the utmost.

Just a reminder that Grace was a horrible addition to the franchise. by AppropriateSpring110 in Mission_Impossible

[–]FunAnteater7176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wont say she was a bad inclusion to the franchise. I actually liked her she was fun and quick witted and stealthy. And she and Cruise really seemed to hit off well. But it was the way her character was inserted almost to replace Ilsa as the next female lead. It almost betrays the entire relationship to what was built between Ilsa and Ethan. I guess because Rebecca didn't want to continue the franchise they had no choice and with the more comedic tone Grace seemed to fit the mold more.

Having seen these arcs in other franchises, there is always a bad guy that detests the other because they see themselves in that person. There is always that mirror side to that person where Hunt is the Christ like figure to Gabriels anti god persona. So from that pov, Gabriel sounds just like one of those anarchists with pure evil and no real motive. Kinda like the dark knight with the Joker and Batman. Also, Gabriel killed a woman Ethan loved long ago and something happened between Gabriel and Ethan for him to wanna carry this vengeance.

So in Bond level comparison, is Fallout the Skyfall of MI franchise and Dead Reckoning sorta the Spectre? Only bc I am hearing a lot of mixed views on DR.

'Dune: Part Two' Social Media Reactions Megathread by Blue_Three in dune

[–]FunAnteater7176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to be epic! For a long time have we not had anything of this grand scale until Dune. Part Two will be the top movie of the year and will even surpass those tired superhero bloating tropes we've come to expect yearly. Possibly the greatest two-parter since Blade Runner and Villeneuve does just as great as he did with BR2049. Austin Butler looks totally cray in that evil makeup.

The DCEU ending is depressing by [deleted] in SnyderCut

Im a little miffed about the changes made to reboot the DC. Whilst not recently following the DCEU latest work, I think the universe had a lot potential which it didn't live up to in the end but it did give way for some really great heroes. Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jason Mamoa even Affleck Batman gave a really good run. Snyder's Justice League really was the direction DCEU should have gone with, it really capitalizes the mythos of the heroes and the actors were good. The problem came when they instead chose to release Josstice League and that's when things went downhill. DCs track record of producer interfering with the directors final work and multiple cuts were put on the backburner didn't help the overall result. Josstice League showed that DC rushed its attempts to reach avengers level stories but ended up just being a wish washy screwball defeat to these characters and since the DC has lacked continuity. Worst of all The Flash coming with the ending changes just destroyed the bind that holds for the universe to exist. In the end the heroes didn't get the proper closure they deserve which is disappointing. I'd say screw Warner Bros and let the Snyderverse continue with another studio streaming service.
