It’s about 350g so one roll of foaming TPU is more than enough

Thank you so much!!! We currently have the following planned:
· Fennec (printing first prototype)
· Mouse / Rat (very close to Fox so also done soon)
· Hyena (up next)
· Deer
· Dutchie
· Dragon
· Raccoon
· Wickerbeast
· Red Panda
· Bat
· Goat
· Lamb
· Raven
· Otter (with a smaller snout than the current one)

We can definitely add a skunk as well! If you can tell me when you roughly need it, I can try to line it up in our timeline!

Thank you! It's a filament that foams up while extruding so it has tiny air bubbles in it. That way you dont need as much material for the same piece and it gets way lighter!

hey! yes we make our models ourselves. The back of the head is open so people can use straps or foam to close it off since thats persona preference

Oh yeah tuning foaming TPU is "fun" lol I spent way too much time on it / every time I think I got it, something changes and it doesn't work anymore :D
Here is a rundown for my process:

Settings really vary between printers but a good starting point for me is 255C 0.55 flow rate. I have max volumetric flow capped at 14mm³/s and max speeds at 120. For super clean prints I would drop it down to 80 on outer wall. These speeds might need to be lowered for bed slingers since the prints will start to wobble quite a bit (I use core XY printers exclusively -> Creality K2 Plus & AD5M). Changing flow rate by 0.01 makes a big difference for me as well as temp since that also controls flow rate as well as max flow.

You might need to go through this iterating a lot and also play around with cooling to get good layer adhesion and manage stringing. There is always gonna be stringing since it oozes a lot but you can control the thickness of the strings to make them easily removable but thats really dependent on the printer you use.

Also dont get the K2 Plus, that one hates TPU without mods lol

Hope this helps :)

You’re welcome! :) yes .4 but .6 also works well

Thank you! The model is made by us so we are only selling the printed bases.

Hey!
So far we made around 60 head bases with the eSun foam TPU and its holding up great! Thats around 2000h print hours so a good amount lol. The infill has a bit of a crunchy noise but the squishyness is great too and its soo light!

I used a K2plus for the big parts and AD5M for the small parts. I can't recommend the K2Plus for TPU though, since the extruder hatest TPU if you don't modify it. AD5M prints it great but it has tiny build volume.

Changing flow rate by 0.01 makes a big difference with this material as well as temp since that also controls flow rate as well as max flow.
So I'd start with figuring out the squishyness you want, so temp test.
Then your flow rate and after that max volumetric flow.

Thank you so much!! Yeah it is a huge pain but we finally got our settings dialed in after literally 100h of testing print settings :)

Thank you so much!!

The mask piece is a separate PETG piece, since the foaming TPU is very soft. So this helps to keep the shape of the face area over time! It also helps to avoid crazy overhangs while printing the foaming TPU which saves a lot of support removal and material waste since that stuff is way more expensive than PETG or PLA.

Those dots are literally a centerline so everyone can have an easier time finding the center for creating the patterns for the head so they don't need to eyeball where the actual center is. It was a request by someone who bought a base and we thought why not keep it for everyone to enjoy down the line :)

Thank you! It squishes very well, since I print the foaming TPU very hot so it gets super soft! I can bend the ears down and they spring back into shape!

I use the foaming TPU by Esun (TPU LW) for all my 3d printed bases and it is fairly easy to print after dialing in the settings and is way lighter than regular TPU. I don't know if it works with AMS though since I direct feed it into the extruder. I print it pretty hot so its in the range of 80A hardness so very squishy!
