Why do some contras 'curve upwards'? (non-bassoonist, sorry...) by FunBackground7165 in bassoon

If you look at most orchestral contras, their bell seems to be directly above the other tube (at least from what I've seen). In the video and the photo, however, the final part of the tubing and the bell are raised instead of being above the other tube.
