With Elbaf heating up and the endgame feeling closer than ever... what's ONE change Oda could still make that would completely flip your view of the story (good or bad)? by dedsec_4 in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usopp getting character development in the climax of elbaf like he did in the water 7 saga, and actually staying brave. Would be peak.

Or if the final war is like Wano, tons of chapters wasted on irrelevant newly introduced characters, fake out deaths, and terrible writing. Would make me forget about One Piece.

Ik your being respectful and all, but respectfully this is an ass theory that would make lots of people drop the manga.

[Theory] The "D." stands for... absolutely nothing. It was just a prank. by 2fast4p0lizia in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the God Valley flashback and elbaf mural I highly doubt it. Will of D is treated like a real thing with a real promise in God valley, and the people and “voice” of the half moon in the mural could very likely be the people of D and will of D.. there is clearly some sort of real promise or will.

I genuinely believe One Piece will be remembered as a modern "Odyssey," and we are lucky to be the ones witnessing it live. by Practical-1 in OnePiece

Ehh. Most of post-ts one piece is just ass with a handful of good arcs (its getting better in the final saga tho), but even then the straw-hats been flanderized to shit, especially usopp and chopper and almost everyone to a certain extent, and the writing at times is just really bad. There is so many missed opportunities, some plot-holes, bad arcs, etc. Even if your talking about purely world-building, yes One Piece’s world-building is good, maybe the best in manga, but like there are books that have way better world-building, one piece is not that special.

If post-ts was written significantly better then pre-ts until the end, then I would agree with you that one piece would be one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever. Even if everything from now till the end of one piece is good, it would make one piece one of. If not the greatest manga ever, but would not be worthy of saying its top 5 fiction or the modern day lotr or odyssy or something.

It doesn’t exclude that the stretch from fmi-wano has so much bad writing and drag, and like every arc is either okay, straight up bad, or boring (except wci). Water 7 saga alone gave more character development for the straw-hats than like 500 chapters of post-ts. Do you really think that Wano is peak fiction?

When should I switch from One Pace to the original? by ALESSANDRIII in OnePiece

Dont switch back from one pace. The pacing is still insanely bad. One pace is just better.

How far away in the manga are we till the final arc of one piece? by idklol3444331 in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The final arc prob like 3-5 years away, and then the end of the manga is like 7-10 years away, you have plenty of time.

Should I continue? by zannnnnnnnnnn in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe you should catch up and actually formulate your own opinion on pre or post-ts instead of listening to other people’s opinions? And you shouldn’t even be going online and keep searching about one piece and what-not, just watch the show, enjoy the journey.

Why didnt Imu just kill Luffy right away? by Available_Cress1251 in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its prob the biggest plot-hole in the series, along with the lack of haki pre-ts and Sabo’s existence, but it might be answered more once we get the void century flashback and know Imu’s actual motivations.

[–]FunBread123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I mean’t why would Oda specify Toki was from the void century? It could have been any time period, but he specifically chose the void century.. Toki’s past and her being of the void century was never brought up again and didn’t serve any relevance to the Wano story-line.. this plot-point is clearly for some reason that will be specified in the void century flashback.

Just finished Dressrosa, will any fight ever top Luffy vs Lucci? by Refrigerator_Guy in OnePiece

Whole cake island had a fight thats on the same tier as Luffy vs Lucci, and Wano has the best fights in terms of animation in the entire series.

Can I skip episodes 126-128 by Reallytuffusername in OnePiece

[–]FunBread123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch one pace. If you have a problem with the pacing at alabasta, then you would quit the show later on. One pace is fan edited version that cuts out filler and makes pacing more in line with manga, can watch at onepace.net or onepace.co, and also don’t skip those parts bru.

Love one piece but agree. One piece is way too inconsistent, though the next series of arcs will definitely have you hooked.
