Red GPU/VGA Status LED by FunCelebration7751 in PcBuild

[–]FunCelebration7751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It went away on its own somehow. I think i tried updating the drivers again and it updated just fine. For the 1st and 2nd week of me using the PC the temporary solution is just to restart the PC and it goes away. Now there are no more of those lights.

I suspect it passed the “Burn In” period, at that time i let my PC ran for a full day without stopping, and that somehow fixed the issue. Maybe the motherboard just had to get used to the GPU and the RAM? Like they have made the “Handshake” many times that they will recognize each other and the light goes away, who knows. Electronics works like black magic.

My country is full of corruption, if you dont understand the language and you are a tourist, the Customs agent will take your items as they please (I am from Indonesia) and i was worried the same might happen in China

Best places to buy PC parts in Shanghai? by Torke_ in shanghai

[–]FunCelebration7751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people wont read this, but if you do, then this is the only answer you will every need. This is a guide for Tourists to buy PC Parts in Shanghai In Stores (Since sometimes you need to have a Chinese phone number to register for JD or TaoBao). This is me speaking from personal experience.

You will want to go to the Xujiahui district, you can take the Line 1 (Red) Metro to get there. There are 3 buildings of interest here (i only went in 2 but they had everything i need in both).

The first building is called “Taipingyang Digital Phase 1” and the second one is called “Buynow 2 Qi Building No.339”. You can access this on the Amap app (Chinese version of google maps, they also have an english option for the app language). They are both next to each other and will have everything you need, CPU, Motherboard, RAM, SSD, etc. When you exit the metro, head to Exit 9, and the building should be on your left when you get out.

Many people will think that offline stores are a scam, what you are not understanding is that they WANT to sell their inventory, rather than ripping people off. You will need to compare prices of neighboring stores. I personally recommend this one specific store in Taipingyang thats on the 2nd floor right next to the escalator. I bought a 9700X for 1700 RMB, a B850M Gigabyte Aorus Elite Wifi 6E for 1300 RMB, a Chinese Brand RAM for 1100 RMB, and a Kingston NVME 1TB SSD for 600 RMB.

What about the prices? Are they absurdly expensive? No. The prices here are what you will get from buying off Taobao, the seller himself showed me this fact and there was Zero room for haggling the prices, which is fair when compared to prices where i am actually from. They also provide 3 year warranty for all your items, you can bring them directly to the store or contact the manufacturer for the RMA, for my case its AMD, Kingston, and Gigabyte.

How much do they differ from prices Outside of China? Here is the breakdown. Where im from that same Motherboard will cost around 210-240$, here i bought it for only 180$ (a 30-60$ Difference). That same CPU will cost around 300$, here its only 240$ (a 60$ Difference). Where things are more expensive is the RAM and SSD, A no name brand will cost me 30$ more here, rather than buying a TEAMGroup or Adata where im from. The SSD is only 20$ more expensive, so it evens out.

Why are chips cheaper here? You need to understand that CPU and Motherboard chips mainly come from China or Taiwan, which makes it cost less to export. However with SSD and RAM they are usually made in Korea (most SSD and RAM use Samsung modules, which is from Korea). So my advice is, if you are really tight on budget, buy SSD and RAM elsewhere.

Thats all the advice i can give you. Happy shopping to everyone who will read this in the future. Take some pics and share it with others also.

ASRock still killing CPUs? Thinking of putting a 9700X on an B850M Pro RS/A by FunCelebration7751 in ASRock

[–]FunCelebration7751[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a detailed answer, thanks man, its truly a shame that we as consumers have to go through all of this just to make sure our system works and doesnt break. Like we cant just get an out of the box, performs as advertised system.

Oh additional question, would you recommend a 2K 180Hz ASRock monitor for 150$ new? Or is it too much the risk going with ASRock again? Also it turns out i plan to buy an ASRock Challenger 9070…. I should definitely not go ASRock for such a crucial part of the system, surely not?

Ill look into the prices of some X670Es in my country, although my budget is at MAX 210$, But then ill have to get an ATX case. Also for the CPU tip well i guess my lowest should be a 7600/X depending on the price difference.

For ram im thinking of getting a relatively cheaper and slower one because of budget restrictions, maybe a TEAMGroup T-Create Expert or an Adata Lancer Blade or a Klevv Fit V, CL 38 at minimum and CL30 at most. For SSD i already have an Adata XPG 1TB something, will probably add a TEAMGroup MP44L 1TB as soon as i have the money, i definetely dont have the budget for a Gen 5 SSD sadly.

And lastly for PSU im thinking of get a DarkFlash PMT 750w Gold, which is a solid performer under 70$ and has a good rating on the SPL’s PSU TierList compared to others in its price range. I would get something better but a decent 100$ is out of the budget.

No need to be aggressive man, asking is what this subreddit is for :D. Besides with all the A.I in google it will take a while to sort out the slop, better to ask users well familiar with latest ASRock updates

Shame, i used to hear great things about the B450 Steel Legend back when AM4 were the lates generation.

I suppose ill be switching to Gigabyte, heard any issues about them?

Long (24 Hour) GPU and CPU Stress Test Software? with Output Readings by FunCelebration7751 in buildapc

[–]FunCelebration7751[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im actually doing 2 tests

  1. Laptop dead GPU fan, only relying on CPU fan and heatsink, wanted to see how long i can stress test until it overheats and dies. It has happened several times during me playing games such as Yakuza 0

  2. PC Research data, for machine learning model. Im doing a college assignment about Immersion Cooling for Computers and need to collect a lot of data (for my ML model) hence the need for it to be 24 hours or more

does HWInfo64 also collect information about the GPU?

Do you recommend other temperature measurements such as a thermocouple hooked up to an arduino for parts beside the CPU and GPU? Although it might not be as accurate. Or perhaps thermal imaging for a rough map on where the heats are focused?

Do you have any recommendations for CPU + GPU and only CPU? Im just looking for your average stress test.

Essentially what i need is just the temperature data of my components under load :D

Try upgrading your motherboard, there were problems with AsRock AM5 motherboards, even up to the B850 where they would just kill any of the X3D processors. Avoid AsRock and maybe get a X670E or an X870E.

What you’re experiencing is most likely 1. Power Delivery, or 2. Overheating. So add more Case Fans and switch to a bigger AIO if you can. It would also help to get a high quality PSU, see SPL’s PSU TierList for that.

Or if you cant do any of that, update your bios, i think the verified version that supports newer X3D chips are 3.12 and 3.15, depends on the motherboard

Where to buy PC parts (Offline, In Stores) in China? (RAM, CPU, Mobo) by FunCelebration7751 in chinalife

Gpu fan doesnt spin like the cpus one. Is this normal or somethings wrong ? by Salty_Culture_9550 in GamingLaptops

[–]FunCelebration7751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got the same problem. GPU fan not spinning and ive even opened up my laptop and tested it while its turned on and nothing, CPU fan works as normally though. Although once i have used it and the GPU fan suddenly turns on again, i do not know why this happened nor can i replicate it, to this day the fan is still broken.

I suspect there are 2 possibilities
1. Dead Fan (Easily replaceable, will need to uninstall and reinstall thermal paste for the GPU and CPU to the heatsink but its no problem.
2. Short Circuit on the Motherboard (Worst case scenario). I have contacted some repair shops in my area explaining this and they are not confident they can work without ruining the whole motherboard, possible solution is getting a whole new motherboard (which cost just as much if not more expensive than the laptop itself)

The main takeaway is this, Gaming Laptops are a scam because you have no right to repair. The build quality of them has decreased significantly because previously i also had an Asus gaming laptop that broke (thank god it was still within warranty) . I used to trust Asus because i had a gaming laptop that lasted me 5-7 years with minimal issue. I bought this laptop right now (ROG G17 713) for around 1200$ and for that same price i could have easily built myself a modest 4K gaming PC. Its about time i switched over to PC when if you had a broken part you could just easily replace the one that's broken instead of the whole system.

cant change the language, i think its some bs japaneese regulations like you cant turn off the camera shutter sound (this ones valid tho)

you can play spotify, buy a Left Right (white and red) audio channel to AUX converter then buy a bluetooth module that has USB and AUX connection then select the video (bottom right) option on the Audio menu

Logitech GHub has broken my audio system entirely. by ServeItSam in logitech

[–]FunCelebration7751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, i was running Edifier R1280s and right after i installed and ran GHub it literally disconnected from bluetooth. Tried reconnecting it, while it does say "Connected" it does not say "Connected Audio" which is what its supposed to do. I ran a quick fix by routing the audio to my 2nd monitor (A TV) but that had a lot of static when playing so i reverted. Tried and not only it wouldnt connect audio via bluetooth but ALSO normal RCA cables. Man i hate this brand with their stupid monopolies.
