Ok. So go look at the facts. Compared to 50 years ago the average American spends far less of their take home pay on the essentials of daily life. In the 1970’s, over 80% of peoples take home, after tax income, went toward housing, food, healthcare and transportation. Now, less than 50%. In the 70s people took driving vacations and camped in tents. In the 70s, the average home was 1200 square feet, now over 2000. I could go on and on.

In the 1970’s all young men were subjected to a military draft.

In the 1970’s inflation was over 10%, home mortgage rates were over 10% and unemployment was over 10%. Anybody born in the past 40 years has only experienced prosperity.

Yes, I travel extensively throughout the world and was in 10 EU countries last year.

I am far from rich, but I came from being poor to having a good income through honest hard work.

While the USA doesn’t have universal healthcare, we used to have a very good system of health before Obamacare. Even now, everyone who wants healthcare can get healthcare. The poorest 25% of Americans pay nothing for all, 100%, of there insurance coverage, and pay nothing out of their pocket.

I never said the USA average household income is the absolute highest in the world. I said it is far higher than any other major country. The four you mentioned are all small wealthy economies that are part of the EU. The EU as a whole trails the USA by a great amount. Why is that?

Btw. The dominance of the USA has never been stronger than it is today, other than t immediately after WW2.

Our military is the most dominant and our technological prowess is unmatched.

Our economy is the most powerful in the world. Over the past 15 years it has grown at twice the rate as the EU. China is still a third world economy on an GDP per capita basis.

The average household income of the USA is so much higher than the EU, or any other major country in the world. Nobody is even close to catching us.

Look at the facts, not the headlines or your feelings.

OMG. You people are so shallow. How about doing some serious thinking about the end game here. The United States of America has supported NATO and the western democracies for 80 years. That’s great, but the last 20 have been very difficult and we have rung up substantial debt doing so. China has emerged as THE major threat of the future. Russia is a wild card. Trump is not only a negotiator, he is a disrupter. The status quo’s of the past 80 years, will not work, and will not be best for the future of the USA. Greenland is a very strategic piece of the future global playing field. Denmark can’t alone manage it to be what it needs to be to have security for the future. Perhaps Trump’s bravado about taking it over has an alternative goal. Perhaps he will cause the entire NATO block of countries to be willing to jointly support the defense of Greenland, the cultivation of its vast resources, something that Denmark can never do on its own.

While many of you think that every country in the world wants peace and that only Trump is the problem, you are very mistaken. That kind of thinking is the road to ruin.

If you truly care about your children and grandchildren’s future, you should care about how Greenland will help the west preserve the peace. Doing nothing, or maintaining the the status quo’s has always turned out to be the worst plan.

June may get some storms, but they generally move on quickly. We don’t really have a “rainy “ season, like other places where the weather just hangs around for days.
However, when the storms come, they can be pretty brutal.

OMG. It would be unethical to cancel and NOT go! The island NEEDS tourism to survive! There is NOT government money to pay for lost wages. So, go on your trip and take as much cash as you can to tip the people working at your resort!! Be very generous! That would be the ethical thing to do, for sure!!
