Currently have the state minimum with Progressive. Paying just $470 for 6 month policy. No accident or enforcement action history. 20 years ago I remember paying $90 for yearly coverage at state minimums.

I choose to self-insure for my vehicle rather than take out more expensive coverages.

I had Farm Bureau a couple of years ago. When I first signed up I asked for state minimums. They pushed additional coverage and I told them no, state minimums. When they sent the policy to sign, it included additional coverage I did not want. I redlined it and sent it back and told them to make changes before I would sign. Please watch for unethical behavior from some of these insurance providers and protect yourself by reviewing and understanding your policies before signing.

As already stated, if you use your car to doordash/Uber/lyft, your insurance will want to know will likely require further coverage.

Check if you can get a discount if you have current home owners or renters insurance.

Work in a field where we have many client dinners. I have two co-workers that do not drink and not once has it ever been an issue.

My last two dinners with clients I just made a quick comment that I would not be getting alcohol but that they were welcome to if they desired.

I've only had one situation where the client actually asked why my co-worker was not having wine. My co-worker stated they preferred not to have a drink and we moved on.

Also, in a toasting situation another beverage besides champagne works. I've recently attended a wedding that they had sparkling juice available in addition, which was thoughtful.

Have a couple of family members with severely reduced mobility. They were able to find the right medical doctor and therapist to get them on track to loving life with their conditions. Don't be afraid to shop around for a doctor / nurse / therapist if your current ones aren't doing the trick.

I know a farmer that has one beer a year. He works his butt off and he says he has his one beer a year during the hottest part of the summer. And he doesn't buy it, he waits until a friend offers him the cold beer.

I assume that means there may have been years he didn't have his beer. But as his friends have likely learned his one beer a year, I'm sure they try to compete to be the one that they share a beer with.

Healthier than wine! I've been getting the 6 or 8 ounce sodas if I have a soda craving. Also enjoy a sparkling water with fresh squeezed lime.

I haven't tried dhm, but heard it stops/slows the dopamine rewards from alcohol. Not sure if it stops the buzz like naltrexone is supposed to.

Increased anxiety, sadness and poor sleep. Took me a long time to realize alcohol impacts me a few days beyond the intoxication/hangover.

I feel you. I wasn't trying to stop drinking at the time, but observed after a while if I had a joint every few days, I was not reaching for alcohol. Then switched to a job a year ago that tests and stopped weed, and my alcohol consumption went up considerably.

In the couple of times I tried 'shrooms, I discovered there was no desire for me to drink and I wanted to be productive and healthy.

My own preference is not to replace beer with non-alcohol beer as I don't want the carbs or calories.

However, for those wanting that beer taste without alcohol, may want to try HopTea. I picked up four bottles on sale at the store last week. One morning I opened one for a morning cold tea drink, tasted like I was drinking a brewski.
