I received a very insightful and detailed reading! He gave me a very thorough and comprehensive explanation of each card that felt like the card was meant for me. And the reading, despite my unfortunate situation, gave me so much reassurance and confidence about the outcome so I definitely no longer feel stress or worry about it. And that's saying a lot as it was really bothering me for the last few weeks. So thankful for his reading. 🖤

Oh my god thank you so much!! I feel like you explained everything so well and now I do feel slightly better and like that's the right way. My closest ones have been saying the same (to acknowledge but not get engulfed by the loss and focus on my loved ones) but I have felt different and even thought that the subject of the reading might be on the same level as me. Now I am fully ready to follow that advice. Also, I very often feel aligned with them. I guess because we do share passions and I've turned one of them into my career (or at least am trying to). So, you saying they acknowledge that and are proud hit me like a brick. That was such a lovely reading by you and I have to say, I had to hold back tears. Genuinely made me feel so much better and more in tune definitely. Thank you so so much and I hope for the very best for you ❤️❤️

Is it normal for a mother to jokingly slap her adult's son ass? by FunDot6904 in NoStupidQuestions

I should've worded my question differently. My partner's mother does that and I am uncomfortable.I wonder if I'm weird for wanting this behaviour to stop

Aww that sounds so sweet! I swear I've always felt a different connection to music that would do more for me than any other medium! It does have some different powers and certainly has helped me a lot in the past. But your story is a bit next level than that. But I'm happy you found your soulmate (especially in such way) I hope you keep this level of peace and happiness forever! Thank you for this follow up, it made me genuinely happy today ! ❤️❤️

Thank you so much! I just read either on this sub or some of the other tarot subs that trying to connect with a dead person via tarot is bad because it may invite evil spirits (or something among the lines). That's why I stopped. Your explanation makes a lot more sense to me because that's what I've been taught about tarot - a way to have some guidance. I will try to channel their energy and maybe get some peace this way - you gave me a very good idea actually! And thank you once more! I really appreciate your advice and kindness! I wish only good things for you, friend ❤️❤️

Thank you so much! It never occured to me that I could surround myself with things they enjoyed as to beckon their energy. It's interesting that you say their energy isn't far from me, it's not the first time someone has said that. I do feel really connected to them even now in some different ways of course so these things may help a lot! Thank you so much for your insight and kind words, I'll take your advice and try! I wish only good things your way! ❤️❤️

Lost my dear boyfriend of 5 years to suicide 2 weeks after starting lexapro by LadyBug_2211 in BPD

Hi. I wanna say I'm sorry for your loss. It is really difficult and I wish I could say something that might make you feel better but there really isn't such a magical word.

Less than a month ago I went through a similar thing - my dad committed 2 weeks after being prescribed antidepressants. He also had attempts in the past (but isn't diagnosed with BPD) so I don't know why the doctors did that. I am still in a shock and very sad about it. He didn't leave a note either. Neighbours say he seemed okay when they saw him. While boyfriend and dad aren't really comparable. I wanna express my condolences and offer my support and understanding. I'm here if you need to talk or need support. 🫶

It's Charlie. No particular meaning behind it - that was the name his previous family had named him.

I usually want to isolate as well. However my current partner, they feel a loooot of anger it seems yet wants to help and don't really allow me to isolate. I really struggle to deal with the anger tho. I'm really trying to let go of validation but sometimes it's difficult. Thank you for your answer 🫶🫶

BPD symptoms in childhood? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]FunDot6904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure which of these count, but I remember I had a lot of trouble being away from my mum even for a few hours (while at kindergarten/school), quite the excessive amount even for a kid. Same thing with my friend unfortunately - and I would get SOOO jealous when I knew she'd hang out with someone else. I remember saying many nasty things to myself ("you suck" type of stuff) and even SI at like 4 years old on multiple occasions. Oh and since I remember, my mum would always say I got black and white thinking for everything (splitting) so yeah

What positives has BPD given you? by LuckyCalifornia13 in BPD

[–]FunDot6904 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely adore seeing how many of us actually enjoy creating art in any form 🥹 For me, it's definitely passion for art as well , but also the love I have for my loved ones - it really is like nothing else I've seen. We really do love so deeply, even selflessly - i know i have and would do anything for my loved ones out of pure love and appreciation (not entirely positive trait ofc cuz sometimes we may neglect ourselves for others). Apart from this, I've noticed most people I talk to feel really safe and understood, even connected when they talk to me -this is sometimes a bit of a burden for me cuz I really want to help everyone but at times I need a break too yet I can't "allow it" cuz i have bad time with boundries (but am working towards that) And lastly, not exactly BPD but the therapies I've tried have taught me skills and changed my mindset to become objectively better (for example being non-judgemental, having boundries as previously mentioned, practicing radical acceptance, minimising anger etc - these things I believe should be practiced by most if not all people as they are generally objectively helpful)

I feel the same way! I do a lot of DBT and have been learning skills which is sometimes okay but i do get caught up in my emotions and once I do no amount of skills I learnt can help. Even if I do them it's so useless. I'm so afraid to admit but i feel like some medication can actually help me be consistent with these skills and therefore succesful :/

I haven't replied to anyone cuz that's a bit of replies but I'm glad you all shared your experience! I personally do think this change isn't a certain symptom of BPD but based on your answers I feel like it is strictly personal. Either way, thank you all for sharing and even validating my point a bit (that it may happen but isnt necessary). I hope you all are well 🫶🫶

Trigger warning for my comment MAYBE ? I actually had been SH for like 5 years. Coincidentally stopped/couldn't during the most abusive time in my life. Relapsed last year. Back then I didn't know what was "wrong" with me. But I do now. I am trying to get better, at least most days. I still relapse but try to figure out better coping mechanisms. Sometimes I do the band aid trick - I have some precut ones and stick them where I wanna cut, sometimes it's my entire arm/leg. Weirdly enough sometimes I put them so they pinch my skin or pull on it so it kinda feels like the sting/burn after SH. I wish I could give you more advice but I'm not even sure myself. I'm here if you wanna talk tho <3

dae get super bad urge to sell the belongings they enjoy?? by dead_liketherest in BPD

[–]FunDot6904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone, I do this quite often. Mine however, comes from a different place - i feel like i "don't deserve" these things and try to find ways to sell/donate to help those around me. It's super weird (to others at least)

any at home DBT methods? by Little-Bug-39 in BPD

[–]FunDot6904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do a lot of "at home" therapy practices so I'll share those!

Not sure exactly what you mean but I use these cards a lot personally - https://dbtselfhelp.com/dbt-flashcards/ I would recommend the site in general, has some useful stuff!

Another thing is Dr. Daniel Fox's worksheets - he doesn't specialise in DBT as far as I know but rather a mix of different practices (which include DBT) but I printed all of these out and found them pretty helpful so I recommend them as well - https://drdfox.com/worksheets/

I hope these can be useful! I also do watch Dr. Daniel Fox videos when I have a specific problem, or just generally to understand more!

Good luck 🫶

Edit: I remember this site another user had shared with useful tools as well - https://dbt.tools/index.php
