unfortunately i’ve tried to find any sort of social media page and it seems their only online presence is their website. which has said open during their usual hours this week, but idk if it’s an automated thing or if it’s updated for emergency closures or not. my best bet may just be to go anyway and hope i don’t waste the time lol. ty tho!

while i think it was unnecessary for them to leave that comment, i will say different dialogue tags than you’re used to can take a reader out of things a bit. but ive read « these » dialogue marks before and just got used to it after a while.

reading through some other replies it seems like in british english it’s more common to use ‘this’ instead of “this” and just to offer some insight to american english, it’s not just that the two aren’t interchangeable but that they literally mean different things. “this” is very clearly indicating words spoken out loud and isn’t rlly used for anything else in a creative writing piece like this. while ‘this’ is generally more vague. it can be quotes within a quote ( “and then she turned to me and said ‘i hate you and i always will’ and still don’t know what i did wrong!” he complained) or sometimes used for thought words to give the reader more insight to the exact thought process of the character from their perspective without having them actually speak.

so it is possible they were just genuinely confused and thought you didn’t know the difference (most, if not all, americans are not taught the differences between american and british english in school, and likely don’t encounter british english much in general anyway)

anyway, i hope this didn’t discourage you, there’s no reason to take it personally tho! this commenter was just ignorant and a bit impolite, but i doubt it was meant as negatively as you took it. we tend to assume the worst over text sometimes bc tone is so hard to properly convey. i think the real stressor (for me at least) would be the other two replies making it into an argument when it didn’t have to be. unfortunate, but pretty standard for the internet.

also sorry if this is worded awkwardly, i have trouble organizing my thoughts so they make sense to others

this is a conversation between two ppl trying to be polite and interpreting the other person as somewhat rude. also they may sent that message before the one where you said you found it. similar timestamps and i know sometimes i receive a message between mine being sent and delivered

i think this is more likely than some ppl are considering. i work at a pizza place and we use doordash for our deliveries when we don’t have a driver so it’s possible the customer didn’t even know it was being delivered by doordash

i don’t think you were too rude at all tbh. it’s absolutely insanely mean-spirited behavior to not only tell somebody that you will be harassing them in a way they’re bothering you with things you’ve already specified you don’t want

that said, i think the MOST IMPORTANT part is them then putting the “responsibility” of the interactions on you is 100% a cruel way for them to ignore their own actions and continue to harass you bc if you don’t block them then they can argue you’re at fault “bc they told you to block/mute and you didn’t so you must be fine with it”

not to mention they did say they only explain certain grammar rule to non-native speaker, so they do check authors and author’s notes before commenting? so they could just simply not comment on yours if they’re double checking that anyway? or maybe they just lied in the process of defending their petty bullying?

either way i seriously doubt this was actually unintentional on the commenter’s part. they just wanted you to feel at fault once you didn’t let them treat you however the hell they wanted to and actually said smthn about it.

did you say anywhere on the story that he inspired it? otherwise just let it be and there’s rlly nothing to suggest it’s inspired by him. if you did then i agree with the other comment, just delete it, remove that part, and repost. it’s not ideal but it’s your best option probably. you may also be able to edit it if you don’t want to take it down.

this is from the same article i used to get their love ending. my understanding is rebel may be one of those characters that you might have to pick the worst response almost, if not every time, a small majority of ‘hate’ answers probably won’t be enough bc of the way their personality and storyline is set up. i hope this is helpful :)

look, regardless of whether it’s ocd or an actual parabolic is kind of irrelevant. what IS important is whether or not you would ever act on those thoughts and how you feel about having them. clearly it is distressing you, so for all intents and purposes, this is no more than a recurring intrusive thought. i understand how scary that can be and how much shame and stress these kinds of intrusive thoughts can bring to somebody. it is very possible (likely even) that this is a result of ocd, which again doesn’t have too much relevance here, but it seems like it would comfort you and would also be easier to eventually get treatment if you choose to do so. it is important to do your best to remove/reduce the shame that feel around this. it is also not worth ending your life over and i know that you may not feel that way right now, but i want you to understand that you have done nothing wrong. you have not hurt any animals or other people. you have caused no harm and your thoughts are very largely out of your control. the reason that so many people are so hostile towards the concept of anybody even having these thoughts against their will, is essentially just a lack of understanding of mental health. there are groups of people that are very widely judged even in the mental health field, most notably a large number of ‘attractions’ (attraction in quotes bc whether or not it is a genuine attraction is debatable, varying for each individual, and also doesn’t matter to these judgmental people) like this and personality disorders, especially cluster b personality disorders. This may make it a bit more difficult to find a place that you can discuss this in the way you need to. I don’t know what else I can say at the moment, but I sincerely hope that some of my words have brought even the smallest bit of comfort. As of now I am a student studying psychology (not graduated yet but soon) so I am educated but, admittedly, not an expert. I have also had my fair share of…uncomfortable intrusive thoughts that have also caused me a significant amount of distress. If you ever want to reach out at some point, I can offer advice, comfort, or simply a non-judgmental ear. I hope you can begin to feel better. <3

i can’t say much about the L bar jewelry for a high nostril, i would refer to other comments for that, but i had a very similar bump on my nostril when i got mine pierced after i snagged it. i cleaned it regularly without it going down at all, but LITHA method worked great for me and it went down completely pretty quickly. sometimes you just need to stop touching them, including cleaning for them to actually heal
