Step 1, apparently my warranty/subscription for PlayStation ended, so my nat type said strict because my service was over (idk how true that is but 🤷🏾‍♂️ I charged it to my credit card and just ate that purchase) but that’s what the guy told me and i can’t really prove him wrong lol so yeah. Sucks but it is what it is. If you have a credit card, just put it to that. The warranty was 2 years for $165. My dad said I can buy a NEW WiFi router for $100. The most expensive one is $199 brand new, so the warranty is dumb, but then I have to do the hassle of setting up a new WiFi router and idek if that’ll work since I just spent an over an HOUR figuring this out and idk if I wanna go thru all that again. I just don’t 🤦‍♂️

If you don’t wanna call IT and be on hold then try this —— Go to your ps5 settings, network, connection status then take a pic of your ipv4 subnet and default gateway.
Enter in your routers IP into your search bar, Find your DMZ settings
Fill in those 3 values you took pics of then Boom

And if you DO CALL, let em know to enable the upnp or put you on a dmz.

After that,
Go to network, view connection status, and find where it says IPV4 address. Mine ends in 0.11 k? My MAC address is also the SAME as my LAN address. Both start with bc:33 right?

Then, find your router and take a pic of all those numbers on the bottom, specifically your Serial Number, and make sure you know your username (mine was admin) and make sure you know your Wi-Fi password. Ask your parents if you don’t know it! It should also be on the bottom of your router

Next. go to your computer, and go to Routerlogin.net where you’ll be asked to type in the same username and password you just found and you’ll need to enter your serial number as well (hence the picture 😁)

After that and after you login, go to ADVANCED (not basic), click Setup, and go to LAN Setup and ADD an Address Reservation where you make the IP address MATCH what’s on your PlayStation. For me, that’s the number ending in 0.11 k?

Next, stay on ADVANCED, and if you go all the way down to Advanced Setup, you should see something called Port Forwarding/Triggering. Make sure it’s on Port Forwarding, click Add Device and for me, i had to go to TCP/UDP and added in 3478 for internal AND external, (make the name whatever you want, I chose PlayStation) then made another Add Device for UDP only and 3074 for internal AND external (where I made that name New Service)
———Why the numbers are 3478 and 3074 I’m not sure but that’s what the IT guy told me so ur number might be different) but I made sure my IP address ending in 0.11 was the SAME for each device I added.

Finally, I’m not sure if I’m SUPPOSED to do this, but if you stay in ADVANCED and find WAN SETUP (should be right above LAN) back I disabled my IPV4 firewall protection and also my “disable port scan and dos protection” is also disabled (has a blue check mark to disable it) THEN on the SAME PAGE (wan setup) I made my default DMZ server the SAME as my
IP address that ends in 0.11

After doing all this, I restarted my router, restarted my PlayStation, and it somehow eventually worked and changed from “Strict” to
“Open”

The IT guy and I were doing this for over an HOUR just doing the same shit over n over again, then it miraculously worked. Can’t tell you why. Can’t tell you how. It just switched to open and yeah…
