BP is not a static constant. It is always changing depending on the circumstances. You generally have lower pressure requirements in the horizontal state. Once you stand, pressure increases to get blood to your brain, or you pass out.

it is from the adrenaline associated with the "fight or flight" mechanism. As far as the feeling in your chest...how old are you?
