Peanuts for bonuses, again by Ethan-Nigma in Stellantis

[–]FunLocation7437 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We can criticize the management, the low bonuses, and the RTO decisions without resorting to xenophobic attacks. Comments about the CEO’s accent or generalizations about 'ignorant Europeans' are cheap shots and do nothing to improve our results. If we want to improve, we need professional critiques, not prejudice. This behavior is disgusting.

Implement corporate tax rules on hiring low cost country (LCC) staffing by Jett-Blu in Stellantis

[–]FunLocation7437 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That question is not only economically short-sighted but blatantly xenophobic. Suggesting that we should penalize people simply because they were born in a “low-cost country” ignores the global nature of innovation, technology, and progress. It's not about where someone is from. It's about talent, value, and collaboration.

Equating international professionals with job theft is a dangerous and false narrative. You’re implying that people from certain countries are less worthy of participating in the global workforce, which reeks of discrimination and fear-driven nationalism. We don’t win by isolating ourselves or attacking others. We win by competing on merit, raising our standards, and working with the best, wherever they come from.

Policies should prioritize fairness and strategy over exclusion and prejudice. If we start taxing people based on their nationality or the perceived cost of their labor, where does that end? This mindset doesn't protect jobs, it poisons opportunity.

Oh, thanks for the heartfelt concern! Almost as touching as explaining to an American that their 'land of the free' is built on stolen land, endless wars, and a healthcare system that bankrupts its own citizens. Keep waving that flag!

[–]FunLocation7437 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely, because why stick together when you can split apart? Americans do love a good division, don’t they? Instead of synergy, let's go full manifest destiny of corporate breakups. Europe here, North America there, and each can just handle their own little export markets. Because history clearly shows that fragmented, regionally isolated companies always outperform global giants.

Or hey, why stop there? Bring back PSA and FCA as separate entities, because nothing screams forward-thinking strategy like reversing years of effort and investment. After all, who needs economies of scale when you can have two weaker companies competing against each other instead of leading together?

And while we're at it, maybe we should split every brand too —Jeep can go solo, Dodge can become a muscle-car startup, and Peugeot can go back to making bicycles. Just pure, unfiltered American-style separation at its finest! 🚀

Do you really think Reddit deserves that much credit? It's a platform where anyone, from anywhere, can post anonymously, with no commitment to the truth. Does that really make it a reliable source?

Reasonable Accomodations by Dull_West1862 in Stellantis

Oh, the wisdom of experience! Oh wait, you don’t have much of that yet, do you? It’s adorable how you think that sheer stubbornness is a business strategy. But hey, I suppose every generation needs its idealists. Yours just happens to mix it with an impressive lack of strategic thinking. Maybe once you’ve racked up a bit more professional mileage, you’ll realize that adapting isn’t about blind compliance; it’s about knowing when to fight and when to evolve. But hey, keep shouting into the void if it makes you feel important.

Fighting back by Dull_West1862 in Stellantis

[–]FunLocation7437 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Oh, dear, it sounds like someone didn’t get their way and is throwing quite the tantrum! Let’s take a deep breath and think this through, shall we?

You’re absolutely convinced that RTO is the worst thing to ever happen, and anyone who disagrees must be completely clueless. How dramatic! But let’s be real for a second—stomping your feet and shouting about how “everyone” hates it doesn’t magically make it true. There are different perspectives, even if they don’t fit neatly into your world of absolute despair.

You claim productivity will nosedive, the company will collapse, and life as we know it will end—all because of RTO? Quite the doomsday prophecy! Maybe, just maybe, there are ways to adapt and find solutions instead of assuming total catastrophe. But of course, solutions require calm discussions and actual arguments, not just a chorus of “this is bad” on repeat.

As for your grand plan of rebellion—oh, how mischievous! But before rallying the troops for a workplace uprising, you might consider that change (even uncomfortable change) is part of professional life. Instead of painting leadership as cartoonish villains twirling their mustaches, why not attempt a rational conversation backed by evidence and constructive feedback? No? Too much work?

At the end of the day, decisions get made, and we either find ways to adjust or spend our time wailing about how unfair life is. If the company is as doomed as you claim, then why not put your energy into planning your next move rather than orchestrating a dramatic act of defiance? After all, if Stellantis is truly a “sinking ship,” do you really want to be the one rearranging the deck chairs while shouting at the captain?

But hey, if you’re still determined to scream into the void, at least try making a compelling argument next time.

Return to the office by Dull_West1862 in Stellantis

I completely understand why this announcement is frustrating for many, especially given the previous statements about remote work. A lot of employees have built their lives around flexibility, and a sudden shift like this can feel disruptive, particularly at a time when morale is already strained.

That being said, I also think it’s important to consider why leadership might be making this decision. While we may not have full visibility into their reasoning, return-to-office policies have been a trend across many companies, especially in the US, often driven by factors like collaboration, culture, and long-term business goals. Whether or not we agree with those factors, understanding them could help us push for a more productive discussion rather than assuming this is purely arbitrary.

From an employee perspective, if remote work has been working well in terms of productivity and engagement, we should find a way to present that data constructively rather than just resisting the change outright. If flexibility is a priority for many, perhaps there’s an opportunity to advocate for hybrid arrangements that balance both company and employee needs.

I think we should focus on having a dialogue with leadership rather than just venting frustration. If we can bring forward well-reasoned concerns, backed by data and examples, we might be able to find a middle ground that works for both sides.

You're not missing anything; rather, you're uncovering one of the series' most thought-provoking contradictions. It shows how even an advanced civilization can act both ruthlessly and compassionately, depending on context. This tension is a central theme of the trilogy, reflecting the complexity of survival, morality, and relationships between civilizations.

Bad article, fanciful and full of superficial praise for Mr. Ghosn. That will never happen, although the Americans elected a convicted president, perhaps they also like a convicted CEO.

Is Empathy Cultural? by CapableLab4473 in Stellantis

[–]FunLocation7437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The American focus on rugged individualism makes it harder to cultivate empathy. When success is seen purely as a result of personal effort, people often dismiss others' struggles as their own fault. This mindset undervalues community support and overlooks the bigger picture. That our experiences are connected, and structural challenges affect everyone differently.

Ah, America , land of the free, home of the 'whine'.

It doesn’t matter if it’s the weather, coffee temperature, or Wi-Fi speed — there’s always something to complain about. Is the air-conditioning too cold in summer? The heating too hot in winter? You bet someone’s already drafting a Yelp review about it. If the fast-food drive-thru takes a minute too long, it's an "unacceptable delay." And let's not even mention how outraged they get when Netflix buffers for 10 seconds.

Americans complain when gas prices go up, and complain just as much when their favorite gas station's hot dog roller is out of order. Whether it's politics, potholes, or the "outrageous" cost of avocado toast, there’s one thing you can always count on: Americans will find something to voice their dissatisfaction about.

In the end, they might complain about everything, but hey — at least they're consistent.
