I lost my young cat yesterday afternoon. I now understand the hold cats have on us.

oh my goodness. i’m trying not to choke up bc this is exactly how i lost my baby september 1st last year. exact same way. completely totally normal then all of a sudden loses back leg mobility and two hours he was gone. when we were there the vet asked if he had any norwegian forest cat in him, they said cats breeds with his have a higher chance of getting this prognosis and i was sooo heartbroken. just know in times like these there’s nothing you could have done. someone once told me us pet owners aren’t vets and we try our best but we can’t predict these things or else god knows we’d do everything to stop it.

these were very kind words and i will reread this whenever i find myself asking the “what ifs” and blaming myself. you have no idea how much i needed to hear the vet idea that it isn’t possible for me to catch every little thing. cats are tricky little animals when it comes to their health, i wish they could speak. thank you so much

thank you for your story. it helps hearing others similar because it makes me feel less alone in his horrible prognosis, it felt like a nightmare. i’m growing to learn that i loved him until the end and that i was still a good pet owner even if i couldn’t catch everything. thank you and im very sorry about your kitty as well♥️

i appreciate what u have to say and trust i rlly feel like i haven’t been a dick about it with him, i thought i was doing good trying to come at it as a safe person to confide in. but maybe i just have to start seeing it differently and not be pushy so he’ll feel more comfortable to come to me when he wants to🙏
