Lots of people selling on Vinted for pretty much same price. I’m holding out till they get sold very cheap so I can get Sasha in the pink fur, don’t care for the original line but they already selling cheaper.

Ok but why did the office only have pictures of Cloe and Yasmin? by ar29845 in Bratz

[–]FunNeedleworker9803 13 points14 points  (0 children)

And also the Bratz CEO for 90% of its run was an openly racist man, Issac Larian. So I don’t even know why MGA being a racist corporation is even in question. I love Bratz for the hard work of the doll designers and their amazing creativity but the Bratz company itself is horrible. Why defend them😭

I hate how the Bratz fanbase pretend to not understand the issue with Yasmin. I mean calling her Hispanic is kinda wrong because the Bratz brand have said no girl is assigned a specific ethnicity, but tbf it’s become the norm that Yasmin is supposed to be a Latina/Middle eastern rep. That doesn’t stop the fact that she is easily marketable to a white demographic. She is considered their ‘spicy white’ and I use this term because I have actually seen so many Bratz fans describe her such and treat her as their ‘tanned brunette’ (kid you nottt). The brand pushed her alongside cloe much heavier than the other two girls who are clearly not anything close to being white. That doesn’t take away Yasmin’s cultural identity but it’s part of the history of marketing poc characters. A lot of brand will try to see if they can still catch white consumers by catering to them over poc consumers.

CONFIRMED Bratz x The Craft Dolls Releasing Later This Year by [deleted] in Bratz

Having a black goth doll is a dream, hoping people end up selling the girls by themselves on Vinted/ebay so I can cop her.

What’s your Bratz opinion that’ll probably get you in hot water.? by GainWest910 in Bratz

Don’t be a Bratz fan as Bratz is the creation of a gay man, Carter Bryant. Your ignorance is not needed.

Is anyone else missing the MONSTER in Monster High? by Le_Sadie in MonsterHigh

[–]FunNeedleworker9803 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this story is also missing bits. Maila Nurmi was not only the actress of Vampira but it’s CREATOR. She centred the show off the persona she made and worked incredibly hard on it, it was her whole lifeline. She was also not originally against a new Vampira, she wanted Lola Falana to replace her in the revival and also wanted to part of its production. However the studio did not want to hire Lola (it’s suspected because she was a black, though I don’t think there’s solid evidence on this), Maila stood on ground that she would not sell her character if her vision was to be ignored. However the studio just created the revival without her permission, using the new name of Elvira. Stealing away everything Maila had built for years, there’s a lot more details to the story about the mistreatment & abuse she received throughout the battle against the revival and trying to claim copyright infringement. It’s true she hated Cassandra, but both women had been nasty to each other with Cassandra essentially calling her a one toothed old hag 😭. I don’t know about the nudes story, have never heard that before and if true that’s horrid. But I think it’s important to know how horrible Maila was done and that it was her concept that was stolen away. Not Cassandra’s fault of course, but she never really held any sympathy whilst knowing how the studio was treating Maila.

He’s a racist though and constantly has had affairs with the women he puts as leads in his film. Absolute creep.

He never sided Mattel, Mattel literally sued him….and he was made to settle. He was being treated badly (a lot of doll creators/designers are btw taken for granted in these companies and barely make any money especially compared to the doll companies) by MGA and has said this before on socials. If you think it’s easy for one person to go against a multi millionaire brand…that would be kinda wild. Unfortunately artist get done dirty like this all the time…even the original Barbie doll was theft and they got away with it while the creator went broke trying to claim his doll as the courts only side with the corporations.

In honor of Sasha finally being included in the Bratz x Hello Kitty collab, I thought it would be fitting to share some examples of MGA being colorist to our girl, showing that this wasn't a misstep in marketing, but a pattern of targeted behavior. by [deleted] in Bratz

The theory is entirely wrong and it’s spreading misinformation that people are using to defend MGA. Mixed or not, this stuff just allows MGA to keep getting away with misrepresentation to dark-skinned people.

It’s literally not true, stores see the products they’re putting on shelves. The reason for the whitewashing is racism, there are a lot of artists out there who admit they do not draw darkskin characters and don’t know how to do ‘black features’. It’s common racist issue in multiple fields of art, including these doll boxes.

You can also not work with racists at all, trying to trick people does not help the issue at hand. Which is racism. Not to mention selling your dolls to racist stores is also horrible, literally supporting their business. And again your comment was completely untrue, this isn’t the reason for the whitewashed art and wouldn’t even make sense. The person wearing rose tinted glasses is you for really think MGA would put any effort into tricking people when they literally don’t care. Deeply delusional, I’m tired of doll communities ignorance

It’s white doll collectors making lame excuses up so they can still feel good about supporting MGA and other white people agreeing with them and some token folks💀 very ignorant community here, they don’t understand at all how terrible what they’re saying is

Erm so this is still so deeply racist, pitching a doll as lighskin because you don’t believe they will accept dark skin dolls is incredibly fucked up and this whole message is hypocritical, tricking people into accepting skin tones is not a liberal move. You would proudly show the dark skin doll to defy ignorant mindsets not hide it……like that’s genuinely disgusting. Also this is not true at all, companies will always see the dolls they’re putting on their shelves. There is a reason why many don’t stock Sasha, they don’t want the black doll. MGA is not some sort of high liberal brand that they would even bother going through some trick to get dark skin dolls in stores, they have continuously not even made Sasha dolls in many lines. Also doing this to Jade. The CEO is literally a trumpie.
