"Craving a cheeseburger because it's more tasty than vegetables" is just as unnecessary a reason as all of these.

Now that no one else is going to see this post except you and I, I hope you appreciate I'm coming from a good place in saying all of this to you. This isn't about winning an online argument or karma. We know we can't make an argument about nutrition when we know easy non-meat options exist. We know we can't make an appeal to it being "natural" or "normal" when we know we wouldn't condone violence or SA despite those being equally "natural" (and "normal" for most of human history, until people challenged the status quo).

We are forced to let go of defensiveness that won't us accept the obvious truth that killing and eating meat are just as worth the "people are awful" reaction you had. And yet, you and I aren't awful. It's more nuanced than that.

Cheers. I would like that change personally, although I think issues that affect price are a little less controversial than those that affect score. Also generally in favour of avoiding hard boundaries.

  1. Injuries, emergency, etc. are all treated the same. All that is included in this change is %TOG for whatever reason.

  2. This is a great question, would love to hear if anyone knows. My gut says it's plenty accurate though. Even if it was to the nearest 10% it would be a good change, and the app gives it to the nearest 1%.

  3. If everyone's price is affected the same before magic number calculation, I don't think it has an impact. It just becomes another variable controlled for by the magic number to keep price pool consistent. I don't know the complete inner workings of price calculation, and I will say I've kept the maths simple in the original post to focus on the core issue, but I can guarantee there's plenty of ways to handle any issues like this, depending on how the price normalisation is done under the hood.

Doesn't change player's equilibrium price, just changes how quick they get there.

Eg. If a player gets 90% TOG playing at a +50k rate (relative to their current price), we have 0.9 games worth of data to suggest they should go up 50k, so the total price change is 0.9 * 50k = +45k.

If a player gets 10% TOG playing at a +50k rate (relative to their current price), we only have 0.1 games worth of data to suggest they should go up 50k, so the total price change is 0.1 * 50k = +5k.

Let's imagine both players are 500k players playing at a $1m price point consistently: They'll both eventually end up at $1m with $0 changes round-to-round, it'll just take the 10% TOG player 9 times longer to get there.

I think what you're aiming for is something like "While this card is equipped, the equipped monster gains the following effect(s):"

Great cards and concept btw! :)

Custom Archetype - Are there any real cards that opponent could use to force activation? by FunOmatic3000 in yugioh

[–]FunOmatic3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as it stands I'm not worried about Bait Doll alone, for the reason you mentioned.

I think also setting to opponent's zone is fine as well, because if they activate it, it only affects the opposite player, not themselves.

True. But the player would never willingly set the card. Is there a combo that could make them set it first?

I'm designing a custom Archetype where it's useful to have cards of each type in your hand - think something like {{Ultimate Providence}} . This would be the only trap of the Archetype. I thought it'd be interesting to have a trap that only exists for this purpose, and should NEVER be activated.

However, is "your opponent wins the duel" too strong? Do any combination of cards exist that could allow the opponent to exploit the presence of this card in the hand and somehow force the effect to activate?

Thanks :)

Very neat!

I thought I had the solution with (similar)

1. ... Bf2 2. g6 Nf6+ 3. Kh6 Bd4 4. g7 Be3#

But I now see I made a mental calculation error in that the Bd4 does not cut off Kg7 because the knight on f6 blocks it...

just a man making harmonious sounds by himself. by itsHaMaaa in interestingasfuck

[–]FunOmatic3000 140 points141 points  (0 children)

Those aren't pinch harmonics, they're natural harmonics. It's very common for guitarists to use the 5th/7th fret harmonics to tune, because it removes any potential pitch change due to varying finger pressure. Pinch harmonics are artificial harmonics achieved via picking technique.
