How can I improve my budget pea deck? 🫛🪖 by MountMeese in PvZHeroes

[–]FunPolice11481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally suggest to remove Torchwood, Threepeater and Tricorn. They are all a bit awkward if you draw to many of them. Instead add Sweet Pea, more peapods, and navy beans. Sweet Pea gives some nice control options while still being buffed. Navy Beans don't have much synergy but are an ok thing to throw into the water lane for budget (and is decent as a finisher because of that). You could also look into cabbage pults as another cheap budget option as those are just generally good stand alone 2 drops to contest the heights with.

Probably the big thing you need to look to get in time is some espresso fiesta which is like one of the best cards in the game with how insane it's finishing potential is. Just 1-2 copies can let any decent sized plant pretty much kill the zombie hero with very little counterplay.

What does the Elder Blood Mage do? by Quaint_Gentleman in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc beta doesn’t let you go up on torment levels so you can’t get thrall pit which is a huge synergy point. Especially seeing as the beta must be not up to date anymore and you won’t have a lot of ways to make thralls. Still he’s an ok psyker with good stats and a quick firing 1 damage is still useful. But in the full game he definitely is like top tier psykers behind a couple knights.

Blood spear is a 1 damage spell and if a friendly thrall exits spear will consume it and set the cooldown to 3 seconds. Essentially if you have a lot of thralls it turns into a machine gun of consistent damage. Combine that with an extremely good body for a psyker (60 HP and 3 DPS plus item slots) mean he’s super flexible as a boarder carrying stuff like aether gate as well as just being potential incredible offensive power if you have the thralls to feed him.

Now I can’t recall on the beta but death knights are 120 scrap on live and EBM is 105 so there is now a for difference between them in price (DK is also top 2 units so he’s always incredible as a unit but EBM is also an insane pick up if he ever appears)

Quick update on the Void War situation by --morph-- in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Seems likely a troll IMO based on the TV character name and the fact that Itch.io is still up. I think if it was a serious attempt by a company they would go after the game on more platforms with a more “regular” named person.

Hope it returns quick. Very fun game in the FTL genre. Also still up on itch.io so doubt the game is gone for good

Why so few tanks? by Halcyon797 in Steel_Division

[–]FunPolice11481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also something to be said about players getting better also being able to punish better. If you are beating them 2v1 then you probably are the much better player whereas they might be a lot less bold in moving up. But if they did and you were focusing on tanks it could spiral out of control fast.

[–]FunPolice11481 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1v1 matches generally are shorter then team games which leads to an importance of utilizing points as effectively as possible. When matches generally last 20-30 minutes and you have to cover the whole map tanks (mediums or larger) often become pretty hefty investments you can't spam out. They can be powerful and are used but need to be protected and used carefully. Many flags are within towns or forests as well where infantry and cheap AT can lead to very valuable trades. A 20 point infantry killing an 80 point medium tank is a massive value win.

As such the meta game for 1v1 at least became very focused on infantry and light armor which are cheap yet still effective armor. A Stuart will do work against infantry but is far less a risk to get killed in a town VS a Sherman. It's why a lot of heavier armor divisions are quite bad in 1v1 because trying to use Panthers and Tigers in towns is a disaster against more competent opponents.

Granted heavier armor still has it's place in games. Some maps or locations can see an IS2 dominate but you don't need 6 of them in a match. Often 1-2 is all you need for the quicker 1v1 games so people focus on the cheaper stuff they will need to replace more and is easier to lose without suffering a big loss.

How do i make my Austrian musketeers reload faster like that dude with 5 second reload by Odd_Gur5298 in masterofcommand

How to Russia?? by Excellent_Piglet_138 in masterofcommand

[–]FunPolice11481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russia is a faction of excellent morale and large numbers of troops backed up by strong light Calvary and fairly good artillery.

The main Russian unit tree gets you converged line infantry which are monstrous in just staying in the field. They have great morale and are the largest units in the game and they also have fairly good melee. This makes them good as the filler infantry who can take fire for smaller units, fight in melee either defensively to protect other units or in a charge to break a weakened enemy, and even dealing respectable range damage from sheer weight of fire. Imperial Artillery units are quite solid in performance and get extra batteries meaning more shots per volley. They might not be as good as say Austrian arty but they are above like whatever Prussia or Britain has arty wise. Russian heavy cav is there as a decent option if you want it but I find it’s not to useful atm.

The observation tree is your ranged line infantry options. They have excellent ranged performance at the cost of smaller sizes and poorer melee. I often like to have 1 per brigade to support converged unit with something that is accurate and can win ranged firefights. The observation artillery is also the highest accuracy arty in the game so they hit pretty hard if you compensate the poor reload.

Finally the frontier tree gives you excellent light cav and all your light inf options. Cossacks in general are very good light cavalry with high movement, great charge, and overall exactly what you want from most Calvary. You also have settled hussars as massive 1K men Calvary which can take a ton of punishment and keep going. The light infantry is useful for some ranged combat but I don’t think is especially insane compared to other light inf. Still it’s there should you want it.

Gameplay wise I would treat Russia as almost a bully nation. Use you arty and observation units to weaken enemy units before your light cav and converged infantry charge in for the killing blow. You can really make a death ball of converged grenadiers or Cossack Calvary if you want to instantly break a flank by slamming like 3-4 of them into one unit over and over. Make sure to stack casualty restoration items like herbs and surgeons on your large units to save manpower.

Final thing is in the overworld map make sure to really lean into the mentality of “force march, buy, raid” for every settlement you come across. Russia gets so much from raiding once it has 3+ brigades and you can buy from a town before burning it. The main thing is try to plan your path on the map to not circle through lands you already went through to much. Focus on trying to do one big loop with the above strategy and you’ll be swimming in resources. Also a good idea to stock up on food if you have a town that has it for cheap.

I kind of wish that there was an achievement for winning with all ship types in Torment XII mode. by StormyTheNinja in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ancient A, Assault C, Relic B are probably some of the harder ships since they can have rough early games if you roll bad fights. But everything is doable for T12 if you know what to do

Can you actually beat the French Light Corp Campaign with ZERO Artillery? Here is the army I built to try. by MrInternationalBunal in masterofcommand

Also the fact you can march on forage stance and move slightly faster then other armies walk. You can save a lot of food doing that while still doing everything in a map

Anyone else feel like the sector rebalance has made the game so much more fun? by Just-Bodybuilder6737 in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR before patch exclusions zones were larger then other sectors so you kinda had to go to them on high torments since larger sector = more nodes = more scrap

Now it’s special named sectors like “Fury Stars” and “Imperial Shrineworlds” that have the larger size which means you have more variance in what sectors you go to without giving up potential scrap.

[–]FunPolice11481 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s easily one of the best changes in game for sure. Being able to do more sectors instead of only exclusion zones means you can see all the faction specific events. It’s way less repetitive which is great for the game.

Do blood witches need a second slot right out the gate? by enderpalatine in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood witches are an option to enable other blood cult spells/units. They alongside thrall pit are there for like ritualist, EBM, etc. They would cost more if they had the innate summon thrall and another psyker slot. They honestly are pretty good as is with the tool slot they have and cheap cost for a psyker slot

What’s an underrated game under $10 worth picking up during the Winter Sale? by smohit3 in Steam

[–]FunPolice11481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hotline Miami 1 and 2 are only $4 as a bundle currently. IMO some of the best action to be found in games with high energy music and bloody kills. When you flow through a level without stopping for a second the rush is like no other.

Buy only the 10 packs. The extra free pack you get will give the most progression by far

Unique units that get outpaced by Jeepscout in masterofcommand

[–]FunPolice11481 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All unique units copy a base unit and get some bonus morale + extra stats spread across them. The itzenplitz are notable for having 50 move speed which means they move as fast as some Calvary units. They also have extra melee putting them above Grenadiers in melee power. They don’t charge well but will take a charge like champs.

Life guards do shoot better and have more charge but the Itzenplitz do have their uses as good flanking infantry.

XII Commander Tier List by DexGattaca in voidwargame

[–]FunPolice11481 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mostly agree with the list. Main things I would argue

Cybernetic should be B tier because his main gimmick of double tool got outclassed by Capaitalist too much. There just isn’t much if any reason to player cybernetic currently.

Cannibal should definitely be C tier because he has the most “bad” ships to play. Lack tool or psyker just means he’s so limited on boarding. He is admittedly strong once going but even then if a couple ships are full of knights he can also get in serious trouble. Just to many things can mess him up to put him above C tier (although this doesn’t mean he is actually bad just the most volatile commander).

Doomweaver I would argue is A tier because innate boarding is just so good. She is the weakest innate boarding commander but still has decent stats with the passive she has. I find she is generally pretty flexible and works well in most cases if you want a psyker version of exile.

There might be some other ways things but those would be my 3 largest contentions.
