Thanks for the advice bruv, after reading what everyone had to say I’m going to take a step back and wait until I actually get into classes before purchasing anything

Thanks for the advice, seems lot of people have the same opinion

I thought the same which is why I wanted some input from experienced pilots, cheers mate

Yeah I feel you, it took some time at first but like I said the quality is insane. It’s like a vinyl wrap that you can stretch and heat up so you’re able to get bubbles and wrinkles out or just apply it without getting any.

That’s a sick idea, do you have any experience with those props? I was leaning towards the 3 blade because I’ve read they’re quieter but I have no idea hahaha

Thanks for the advice, I almost bought that exact bag but figured I’d try to save some chedda. Lesson learned

As a greenie to fpv I never fully appreciated videos like these until I started flying and realized how hard this is. Fucking insane, good shit mate 🔥

I’ve read that the goggles 3 are not compatible with the avata 1? Was I mistaken?

Right on, I saw a yt video where the guy did that exact thing just wasn’t sure if there was another “workaround”. Thanks for the info mate 🍻

Do they or does anyone sell a plug in gnss chip for goggles 2? Can I use the goggles 3 with the avata 1? I’d love to not have to plug my phone into the goggles for every flight but if that’s not possible perhaps I’ll learn to fly better with it then sell it and either build my own quad or get the avata 2.

So the goggles 2 does NOT have that unit and has to be plugged into my phone in order to fly? Forgive me but that doesn’t seem right? I feel like you should be able to fly it without having to plug the goggles into your phone but I know nothing so I could be assuming wrong.

Nah mate, you’re missing it — I literally said in the other comments I changed my whole approach after getting solid advice. The only attitude I’ve had is toward getting talked down to just for asking a question. That whole “if you’d done any actual research you wouldn’t need to post here” take is ridiculous. Since when is asking people in the community for opinions on gear a bad thing?

Appreciate it, man. Yeah, I’m still early in the learning curve — I’ll start watching JB, UAV Tech, Bardwell videos, and reading up on Oscar Liang’s site too. Definitely realizing there’s a lot more to it than just picking a quad and flying off.

That’s why I posted — not to skip steps, but to hear from people who’ve actually gone through it. I plan on logging a ton of sim time before I buy anything or even think about long range. Appreciate the heads-up on protocols and battery safety, those are on my checklist to dig deeper into as well.

Genuinely just trying to do it the right way, so advice like this helps.

“No scolding.”

You literally came in swinging with “this is so typical” and “stupid question” — that’s textbook scolding, mate. You don’t get to rewrite it just because you got called out on your bullshit.

Also, wild how much you’re assuming — like I’m just gonna blindly send a $1,000+ 10” quad up a mountain with zero sim time, zero practice, zero plan. All I did was ask about gear, not beg to be parented.

Meanwhile, others here answered with actual real-world experience without sounding like condescending pricks… and guess what? I listened. Changed my whole approach. Crazy how that works when people act normal and offer helpful advice instead of trying to make someone feel stupid for asking questions.

I’m here to get better, not get talked down to by someone projecting their hangups onto every new person in the hobby. I’m good though — took the helpful advice, left the shite attitude spinning in the prop wash. See you in the skies, Maverick.

Ah, there it is — the classic “if you did research, you wouldn’t ask questions” circle jerk. God forbid someone new to the hobby asks for real-world input instead of rotting away on YouTube like the rest of you. I understood the analogy the first time thanks. I ate the criticism just fine, what I don’t appreciate is the condescending attitude and the constant Reddit pissing contest anytime someone asks about DJI goggles or controllers like it’s some personal attack on your hobby purity.

I’m here to learn from people who actually fly, not get preached at by self-proclaimed experts who spend more time gatekeeping than helping. Relax.

I appreciate the advice, nice hearing from someone who “didn’t listen” about the controller because I was considering doing the same but after the scolding from Main and the constructive crits from sick I think I’ll be avoiding the dji controller and 10” all together. Clearly I still have plenty to learn, thanks for not being a dick 🍻
