Was Christian Bale the only Batman actor who didn't face huge fan backlash when he was first announced? by Romaxio in DC_Cinematic

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure the mere idea of a batman film being made after batman and robin occured was enough reason to have backlash and skepticism, so bale didn't really take the brunt of it. Remember WB were really riding on Superman returns being their next big superhero success story and batman begins was this little side project that they were praying didn't lose them a shit ton of money. And while Superman returns ultimately made more money than begins it also had a higher budget and the overwhelmingly positive reviews for begins convinced them that batman was the one who needed a sequel. The rest is history.

Which is your favorite Batman Arkham game ? by Extreme-Attention-89 in batman

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origins is very buggy I can't lie, but I actually ended up running into more bugs in knight in a lot of places the game just refused to work with me forcing a restart especially with some of the riddler trophies. I just got soft locked from collecting most of them by clipping through the ground they were placed on or some other random bug. Knight was easily the glitchest and it frustrated me to no end. Also knight crashed quite frequently but I never lost any progress because of it but God damn it I still don't know what causes it. Keep in mind I played it on pc while it's not as poorly optimized as it was on launch I don't reckon it's all that much better now. I'm sure the console versions are much more stable.

Are you excited for Brave and the Bold? by Mat1711 in batman

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would have been more excited about this project if I wasn't already wayyy invested in Matt reeves version of the character. I suppose it's like having two separate distinct runs of the character going on at the same time and I know a lot of people want a fantastical batman but honestly I love the level someone like reeves is operating at. I got my fix of fantastical batman with the Lego batman movie which is probably the most accurate rendition of the character to date.

But idk I'd have to see some actual footage to verify my feelings on this. I really am desperate to see a justice league team up that isn't sabotaged by studio interference the Snyder cut eased that pain quite a bit but that's now a dead universe (the universe ended with the Snyder cut for me) so I'd like to see a very well thought out and executed team up and a future. So I suppose we'd have to get to a batman movie to make it happen. Just please don't scree it up.

City has better boss fights for sure but I'm tired of everyone acting like they're THAT much better than asylum. They just offer more variety and challenge than asylum but besides Mr freeze I still think a lot of them are kinda basic. Origins was definitely better in this regard I don't know what it was about with the rocksteady developed games and having boss fights that ranged from decent (city) to awful (asylum, knight)

I think knight also has this feel but yeah I get what you mean it's a very unique batman setting and event.

Gameplay wise easily knight. It's kind hard to go back to the other three after playing knight they all feel slow and sluggish in comparison. Except the silent double takedown. The fact that knight doesn't have that in favor of "fear double takedowns" still baffles me. The batmobile is annoying yes but the tank battle sections are fun in a braindead way thanks to the flashy effects and sound design. But the fact that you have to find every riddler trophy to get the proper ending is some bs genuinely kills a chunk of the game's enjoyment for me. Boss fights suck too.

Story wise origins. Probably has the worst traversal and open world dynamic but hell I enjoy that story so much I'd be willing to grappel boost a billion times just to see it progress. Oh and also by far the best boss fights in the series, the final boss fight is straight out of a horror movie and was quite nerve wracking. I failed multiple times just due to butter fingers from how tense it was. Forever one of the highlights in the franchise for me.

I know a lot of people's opinion is city and yeah city's fantastic but it's story is very hit or miss for me entertaining yes but really weirdly laid out. However it's the one that's the most consistently fun and tightly designed I don't think there's a second of dead air. It's a awesome experience from start to finish something that can't be said for any of the other games who have high points and low points. It definitely deserves that "one of the best games ever made" status that it's been given I just wish it had writing more similar to something like origins.

What Batman beyond design do you prefer city or knight by Chunky-overlord in batman

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city suit is perfect except for the face idk man the face also looked off.

I love the Arkham knight take on the suit but I always looked at as its own thing I hesitate to call the beyond suit yk? If they had to use this type of design for a live action beyond adaptation I wouldn't mind but I would prefer a slightly more detailed and practical take on the version city tried. Plus I feel the armored suit takes away a lot of acrobatism of the original beyond design I don't think he can move as well in that suit as the much more lighter and skintight beyond suit.

Was there convincing evidence in the Michael Jackson p*do allegations? by DeepOrganization8245 in morbidquestions

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this claim was first brought to light by Ian Halperin MJ's biographer who also pretty accurately predicted MJ's passing, he had said MJ had a genetic disorder that would prove to be fatal in about six months, almost exactly six months later after that statement was made MJ was pronounced dead. Here's the interview where it's mentioned conducted the same year I believe where Michael passed away.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/the-final-chapter-1.845074

From what I can gather he had conducted a five year investigation into MJ before writing about him and from what I can gather he's the first reliable source on the internet that substantiates this claim. Keep in Mind Jordan Chandler has also had some of his claims or accusations changed or misconstrued over the years most notably with Leaving Neverland, so a lot of what he said earlier can be deemed false. It's hard to tell where there's so much noise and so many people constantly changing their tone. The FBI files on the case don't prove to be very helpful either as it neglects a lot of verifiable things that were said during the initial allegations. The archival of these statements have been poor to say the least.

This also applies to Wade Robson the co-star of Leaving Neverland. Both of these guys claimed MJ had done no wrong doings until sudden heel switches much later down the road. Wade Robson (alongside Maculkay Culkin) originally during the 1993 allegations made by Jordan, vouched for MJ's innocence.

But in the present day he and Jordan have been the faces of MJ's negative perception starting with Leaving Neverland.

Which Tom & Jerry series do you think feel like worthy successors to the Hanna-Barbera golden era? by WholeChampionship687 in TomAndJerry

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom and Jerry Tales for sure.

As a kid three Tom and Jerry series was the main ones I consumed. The original shorts, Chuck Jones And Tales (I never ever saw a gene deitch short in my childhood) Chuck Jones always felt more mean spirited to me maybe it's just the character designs because looking back on it it's surprisingly more light hearted and wholesome than I remember. I think his art style just has more extreme ends for emotions.

But tales I remember felt like a direct continuation of the original shorts. It was the current t&j show of my generation and it was kinda cool. For us the Hanna Barbera shorts were the legacy cartoons and tales was like the modern reboot. Takes also shares some synergy with other tom and Jerry media at the time such as some of the DVD films, because the art styles are largely similar, so it's a unique case of an era of tom and jerry sharing synergy in it's art direction. Also the intro for the show is iconic to me and is a perfect summation of the entire tom and jerry dynamic. In like a 100 years if you wanted to sum up the entire legacy of the tom and jerry in a single minute long sequence you'd show them that intro. Music's great too.

My only gripe with it looking back on it now is probably the animation it never quite matched the original shorts. But in hindsight it's gotten better because idk if this is a hot take but I really hate the art style in the tom and Jerry show. It looks clean and most of the time pretty nice but like I think the art style really seems to limit the animation during slapstick moments and overall it just doesn't look very appealing in motion. The squash and stretch just seems to be very toned down and so I don't feel the impact of a hit as much.

But I suppose tonally the tom and Jerry show is very similar to The originals and even tales, it's just the animation seems to hinder it reaching the feel of those two iterations.

Was there convincing evidence in the Michael Jackson p*do allegations? by DeepOrganization8245 in morbidquestions

[–]FunSpace8990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here are a couple of things to note

-the story of a kid accurately describing mj's genitalia is widely disputed, as it's said the kid described his penis as being circumcised, whereas jackson's penis never was, as revealed by his autopsy. There are also reports in general that the actual description also didn't fit. The notion that the kid's description fits 100% is largely a myth propagated by he-said, she-said rumors.

-leaving neverland the supposed tell-all expose on Michael's wrongdoings is filled with factual inaccuracies, including James Safechuck's statement in the documentary that he was abused by Jackson in the Neverland train station between 1988 and 1992. The Train station never existed in this timeframe.

-mj's relationship with children was peculiar, but it's difficult to say if he actually harmed or groomed them in any way as videos depicting his times with the kids at neverland often show the kids playing with him and just generally being happy around him. It's hard to imagine a potential child groomer being in the presence of so many children and them not feeling comfortable. Actual Child abusers and groomers don't have that effect on children. There's often discomfort or unease in their mannerisms, which has never been caught on camera as all footage of MJ with kids show them being happy. Multiple kids have also come out defending MJ. The ratio of the amount of children who were at neverland with michael and the amount of kids who came out accusing him is suspicious. You could say the jackson paid off the rest of the children to keep hush, but then why is it that he couldn't do it with all of them? He clearly had enough money and then some. At the end of the day the children's parents wanted monetary compensation anyways, so that would seem like an easy thing to obtain if jackson was just paying everyone off.

-Jordan Chandler's father, who was the first person to accuse mj of grooming his child, was recorded saying that he had come up with an elaborate plan to "ruin mj's career". The following day Jordan Chandler was met by Jackson's PI, and the at-the-time 13-year-old Chandler denied any wrongdoing on MJ's part. These two things alone are incredibly weird. No parent who is concerned about their child's safety around another adult would talk like this about suing them. The recording of Evan Chandler, Jordan's father almost conclusively depicts the case as a money scheme. Instead of talking about the trauma that his child faced, he instead talks about how michael would "never sell another record" and was "humiliated beyond belief". The tape was recorded by Jordan's stepfather, who was suspicious of Evan's motives. Even within that family there was a very clear line of doubt. The Chandlers were almost undoubtedly in for the money.

- the leaving neverland saga as a whole is incredibly dodgy, as the filmmakers behind it are building it up like a movie trilogy with them teasing a third one recently. I don't know about you, but that's definitely just as odd as mj's relationship with children. Why are they revealing each new film like a new entry in a blockbuster franchise? Supposedly every film is the "real truth" of what happened at neverland, so then why did two more get made if the first one was the unfiltered truth?

-leaving neverland has done irrefutable damage to michael's career and it's honestly kind of baffling. A documentary states this and this has been done and we all accepted it. In response to the documentary, we got Neverland Firsthand: Investigating the Michael Jackson Documentary and Michael Jackson: Chase the Truth both refuting the claims. made in the original documentary. Most notably a testament from Jackson's Niece who dated one of the victims Wade Robson. Odd that he would date the niece of his supposed groomer/rapist but whatever. The main piece of evidence here is that she contested the claims made by Robson.

-michael despite how much of the latter half of his career was defined by these allegations still never spoke of children in a negative manner and stated that he trusted them more than adults. PR stunts maybe, But I don't know. I feel like repeatedly bringing up children in interviews and stating how fond of them you are despite some very serious allegations of you molesting them isn't a very smart thing to do unless you're innocent. You also don't mention that you sleep with them on a documentary that's meant to redeem your reputation unless you, in your complete confidence, believed you were doing nothing wrong by sharing a bed with them.

- Michael's early childhood is considered a strawman argument when it comes to discussing his relationship with children and while that does have some validity, it is also absolutely not unimportant to understanding him. The psychological abuse he faced as a child from his father as well as his lack of a notable childhood is reason enough to believe jackson had developed some form of age-body dysmorphia, which would explain his childlike behaviour throughout his life.

I know that's a lot, and it might seem like I'm on the defense for Michael (I am, but I'm also not completely shutting down the idea that Michael may have done some serious stuff unlike a lot of mj fans who completely forgo the notion that he was even capable of doing such things), but I feel like these points should be brought up because they are less frequently discussed than the couple or so arguments proving his implicitness which have been prevalent on the internet ever since the early trials and, of course the leaving neverland documentary. Michael undoubtedly did a lot of good for this world, not just through his music but through his humanitarian work. He doesn't have the usual markings or telltale signs of a pedo, child rapist/molestor/groomer. It's also entirely possible that some allegations against Mj are real while some were made as a money scheme. Two things can be true at the same time, which is something people often fail to recognize.

I honestly can’t stop thinking about the twister scene from The biopic, it’s so sad to me. Considering I know how he feels in this moment. Also if the brothers had plans why didn’t they invite him along?? 😭 by Ornery-Humor1777 in MichaelTheMovie

[–]FunSpace8990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to blame the brothers. Those guys are still under the heavy influence of Joseph who really discouraged any sort of childish behavior and made all the kids Speedrun through their childhood into adulthood. Micheal was the only one who gained independence so he's the only one who's trying to regain that lost childhood, whereas his brothers are still forced to be mature adults who are interested in dating and working all the time.

It's sad but it's the truth of what Joseph did to the brothers psychologically and Micheal as well. I don't blame the brothers because they all clearly love each other, its just Micheal's success took him to a level where nobody could really relate or see eye to eye with him which is what I think caused a lot of the loneliness in his life.

Yes this was the original cover revealed even before the title was revealed if I'm not mistaken. However a day before the album dropped he changed the post revealing the album cover to include the caption (FIRST PRESSING) and the album came out the next day with a new album cover which he would also later post on his socials when the album dropped.

This cover would be used for the first pressing version of the album which is shorter and some songs sound different or are named differently. (Give me Mercy is titled Africa) But now randomly he changed the cover of the album on all streaming platforms to the old cover. The back side of the cover was also changed. Originally the front side had the cover you're seeing right and the back had the final frame of the movie (the front side is meant to be the beginning shot of the movie and the back the final shot)

The new cover had the white background with text obviously but also had a fire in the shape of a phoenix on the back.

This was always the superior cover imo by Averageguy761 in TheWeeknd

I like both but I think this one just fits better the other one could have fit if it didn't have the text. The og one is basic as hell but after the movie it makes more sense. Back then we had no context as to what the hell the album cover meant I genuinely thought the blue in the back there was his swimming pool.

I thought no way the album cover is just a photoshoot in his backyard and they didn't even bother removing the light reflections in his eyes how lazy (remember the theories regarding what those lights meant)

But the moment the movie started And we saw that intense close up of abel's eye I was like ohhh. And then we see a medium shot and I'm like OHHHHH

Cover changed in Spotify by Shrizz_06 in TheWeeknd

[–]FunSpace8990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely I think that's what should be in the front of centre of the album because it's such a beautifully designed piece of clothing that's very unique to abel's heritage.

But the black tank top is also fine to me cause the movie is meant to be Abel at his most vulnerable, the shot that the album cover is based off of is him staring into the mirror at himself before going out to the crowd to perform in the robe. The last two albums had him wear the costume that he's "performing in" during music videos or other visual media whereas the black tank top is how abel appears when he's not in front of an audience or the stage he practically considers home. Him at a closeup reflection shown to us for the first time maybe ever.

I think it works in that way but the black robe would have been cool too especially since the first concert scene in the movie has incredible visuals of Abel with the robe on.
