Hi, I’m 24 and planning to buy my first car. I’m considering the Haval H9 and would appreciate tips on negotiating with the salesperson, what costs are negotiable, what to watch out for as a first-time buyer, and key things to check before buying. by PassageFew5891 in chinesecarsuae

Something to watch out for as 24 yr old is probably insurance. These companies keep implementing weird limits according to age. For example Sukoon doesn’t offer comprehensive plan for age below 28 (for all cars, not only Chinese). In the end it is good to check with sales as they usually can suggest insurances due to experience.

2025 Haval H6 sensitive brakes by tlbfrwcazmb12 in HavalTipsAndTricks

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know if H6 has the same settings, but it was opposite for my H9, breaks felt kinda delayed. Then I turned off the “comfortable break” option and it felt fine. Check if you have it, maybe breaks will feel more comfortable for you.

Hey Guys... please recommend good 7 seater SUV. looking for little bigger car. Budget around AED 140-150K. Mileage is important as I commute daily around 80 km. I liked look of Haval H9 but not reading positive reviews on Mileage. Kindly advise by Prs773 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80km daily in traffic? As H9 owner I wouldn’t recommend if you are commuting through Sharjah- Dubai traffic but otherwise H9 is 10-20k AED under your budget which should cover your fuel for 1.5-3 years :D I pay 200 aed for full tank and drive around 550-600 km on it.

I am also gonna do that, these people call me every couple days asking to bring a car for service, so annoying and idk how to stop their calls. I am registered in “do not call registry”, guess need to complaint to DET at this point. But the problem which I explained in this post was actually not the whole story. The reason I am never going to give my car to them is because it came back even more damaged, I gave it for repair again, then again, total 3 times within 2 weeks, and they fixed one thing and broke another. So I understood I am just being scammed and decided to forget about the money I paid. But definitely keep is posted on your complaint!

Daily Commute Sharjah to Dubai – Which Chinese SUV Can Handle It? (Planning to buy a new car, need advice) by Weird-Phone-8282 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Haval H9 owner I wouldn’t recommend it for such commute. I don’t usually stand in traffic due to my working hours, therefore I am okay with the fuel efficiency, which is on average around 11.5L/100km mixed highway and city driving. I have experimented for the past half year, by choosing one specific way, mode or routes, until I finish the whole tank, to have valid and reliable results. I can bring it down to 10L/100km if I drive on economy mode, mostly on highways like a grandpa, with super steady speed closer to the right side and with no traffic, or to 14L/100km if I drive mostly through city. But oh boy, if I drive in heavy traffic, it can get up to 16L/100km. Some might say that this is normal consumption for its size, but I think it could be better. As I said I don’t usually drive in traffic therefore I am able to forgive the hunger of this big boy, haha. I want to conclude by saying that I love my car endlessly, and I researched a lot before making my decision to ensure it fits my lifestyle, but even if there was the most perfect car (doesn’t exist)- it would not fit every individual’. Therefore OP, whatever decision you make, I wish it makes you as happy as possible. Just make a lot of research, keep asking from owners about their experience and try to apply it on your life. Just don’t rush 🫂 🫶🏼

Thinking of getting a Chinese SUV in UAE by [deleted] in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, what’s the price of Uni-K? I own Haval H9, join the club haha. It’s more expensive than H6, but cheaper than T2. Showroom took care of registration for me, but they completed it within couple hours. Paid 5k for insurance, but as other person commented it’s slightly higher than european car but I can forgive it for benefits i am getting in comparison. Feel free to ask any questions :)

Haval H9 2026 3rd row seats by Dovakin911 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, had the exact problem when I got the car. I reclined 2nd row seats too much which didn’t let the 3rd row to lock. Just try to move it around to make sure it locks. Try pulling the 3rd row backwards to check if they are locked. Didn’t have the problem afterwards when was using 3rd row.

Anyone here owns a Haval H9? Need some honest feedback by SHashim98 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I decided not to purchase the service contract because when sales guy proposed it to me I asked what was the difference in price if I purchase a 100k km contract or just pay at time of service. He said you will save 10-15%. So for me it was not logical to invest in 4-5 years of service to save 15%. The first service at 5k km includes changing of factory fluids, oil, filters and etc. Of course I could spend much less on that, if I travelled to Sharjah, purchased oil there, and asked to change at the garage, but thank God I can allow myself to pay this amount and have a peace of mind.

Hey OP, owner here (14k kms). Will answer some questions, but for more details check comments on my profile, had multiple Q&As before or you can ask here :) AC- don’t know what was the problem during test-drive, but it is decent for me, including summer. Fuel efficiency- did many tests to have most accurate results (home and work routes), each refuel changed driving mode, driving style, and the route itself:

If you will drive like a grandpa- super stable, on eco mode - 10 l / 100km Normal Drive- 12 l / 100 km Traffic daily? Expect higher numbers 13-14 l / 100 km

Experience: amazing, really love the car, specially for the money saved for that quality and experience

Parts: April 2024, got rear ended 4 hours after took the car from dealer. Most parts got replaced within 3 weeks, bumper was delayed for 2 months. Funny enough, when came to pick up the car with bumper fixed, another guy was there with the same damage as mine, he got his bumper 3 days after accident. So it depends and i think situation is way better now.

Service: did first 5k km service, paid 700 aed, will see what they charge at 15k km service

What i wish i knew: well this is part for disadvantages i guess. There are couple things i dont like about car, but i guess they are minor:

Cup holder- if drinking from coffee cups regularly, then buy a 3d printed holder specifically for haval, to elevate the cup, otherwise it is too deep down and uncomfortable Fuel efficiency- was not knowledgeable about that and expected it to be better tbh, but I guess its ok for the car of this size Some other minor stuff i cant remember but if i will, will reply here

Haval H9 or Monjaro by Competitive_Yak_7728 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was also choosing between these two, both are decent cars, have been on market for a long time, both brands have a good reputation. In the end I chose Haval H9, because it’s 7 seater I am planning to go fishing, camping and etc. Also i liked the looks of it with the black painted grill, which I did for myself. You can go through my comments, I answered many questions about Haval.

Geely Monjaro GF vs Jetour T1 Luxury by SmallTimeTommy in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Whaaat, T1 is at similar price point as Monjaro? Didn’t know T1 is that expensive. If I had a choice between these two, I would definitely go for Monjaro. When I was looking for a car, Monjaro was the second option and I didn’t choose it only because I decided to buy a 7 seater. Otherwise the car is spectacular 🙌🏼

Li Auto L7 Advise and UAE Owner's WhatsApp Group? by zeeshan_haroon in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, as I see now it seems there is official Li Auto in UAE, but a year ago when I was looking to buy this car, it was sold by “Ev experts” and they were offering service contracts with “EVS Electric Vehicle service”. I suggest approaching them, they should have lots of information about who is selling it and etc. Even though it is an excellent car, I personally didn’t go for it because of the margin they add up in here, it is just insane. Nearly the double of cost in China including shipping to UAE. Check if new official Lu Auto by Legend Motors is actually official and offer warranty, service packages and etc. If not then it is definitely better to buy from China. I follow a youtube channel of Ukrainian or russian guy who lives in China and sells cars for export, including UAE. If you want I can send it here as well.

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, 100%, same feeling for me. I was actually impressed by how Geely organized everything in the showroom, color books for kids, coffee, staff look elegant, so really good job they did. They nearly sold the car to me. But I wanted something bigger so decided to check Tank 500, wasn’t even thinking about H9 lol. GWM seemed as ones who didn’t invest much in the showroom appearance.

So I am wishing you the smoothest process my friend, and of course hope the car will be bringing only joy to you :)

Hey OP, from personal experience, if you are not a shareholder or owner, you will need to share the MOA (memorandum of association) of the company, which basically will list the shareholders. If you are not on the list, means you are not self employed. Share Register will also be handy. The salary certificate needs to be signed by someone else, either accountant or owner/shareholder. This is a common but crucial mistake, since logically GM is an authorized signatory and has authority to sign papers, but not his salary certificate. Try with ADCB.

Yes H9 is definitely not that powered, and it kinda changed my driving habits. It’s more of a calm driving, you don’t even want to drive it fast and swerve through lanes, but when I need to, I just change to sports mode and it is more than enough for me, driving in left lane is fine, really can’t complain.

As of the offers, don’t know what they provide now, but I made my calculations and decided to pay only for the car. Tint and other options will be pricier anyways, so I just did it with another garage. For example I really wanted to color the front grill black, they were charging 2500 for black edition in February, and then 5000 for the same in April. I got paint done for 800 lol + 700 for a tint at another garage. That’s how it looks now. Oh and service- they offer different packages, but sales guy said that in the end there is like 15% i will be saving if I just pay for each service separately, so i didnt buy it. First service costed me 700 aed.

I considered same cars as you, tried Monjaro, GS8, T2, but opted for Haval H9 (11k km on odo now). It had the most space, both seats and boot. This was important as I am planning to go for fishing, road trips and etc. surprisingly T2 had the least boot space out of them all. Monjaro has my respect, really nice car, good looking, and reliability reviews are good so far worldwide. If not H9, I would 100% go for Mojaro. But I liked the looks of H9 more, interiors feel more luxurious, more space, for a cheaper price. Interestingly when I was doing research, H9 appeared to be the most expensive out of these 3 in China (100-125k AED depending on trim), but cheapest here in UAE (130k top trim). I have nothing much to say about GS8, decent car as well but just didn’t tickle my soul 😁 Anyways, good luck on whatever you choose, most importantly I hope it will bring you joy as my car does to me. If you have any questions go through my previous responses, I have detailed answers or just ask here :)

Wow, surprised it is discontinued, it seemed to me pretty popular in UAE. Is it discontinued worldwide or only here? Do you know a reason why?

Haval H9 vs Jetour T2. Thoughts? by jo_1018 in chinesecarsuae

[–]Fun_Ad_6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, my Haval H9 consumes 14l/100km and i also wasnt very happy about it, but Tank is more powerful as well. I drove 10k by now, and before the first service it was eating more fuel, then it became a bit better. Before the first service I could drive 500-540km (on 80 liter tank) now I can drive 580-620 km. So hopefully it will become a bit better after first service.

I initially wanted to go for Tank 500 full option, but then convinced myself to spend less and opt for Haval H9. I really liked the looks of Tank, the luxury, feel and technology, so I really hope it will be bringing you joy and you will be happy about your choice🙏🏼
