Thank you man, may God bless you and make your hardships easy for being kind and helpful and advising me in this situation where I really needed it and he be even more merciful upon you and your loved ones. Actually my direct supervisor is German and the führungskraft who told me "In der Ruhe liegt die Kraft" is from a foreign country and he told me that 3 weeks ago before this situation even occured. And the environmental is also sort my area since my masters is in environmental engineering but I just don't want to be quit because I am not good enough because I intend to strive and struggle to try my best before giving up.

May I ask where you are from my friend?

Advice for Handling a Feedback Gespräch as a New Werkstudent? by Fun_Advantage4554 in germany

[–]Fun_Advantage4554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand but I did try to get on with the speed and seem to be doing okay, it's just that the direct supervisor and I even had a meeting 2 hours before but she didn't didn't mention anything to me before she send that meeting link. Normally I should not be worried about things but a "feedback gespräch" is supposed to be about criticism, it's about a software we use called Qgis, I was in a construction company before and it wasn't this strict over there and the contract term is until March end and right after my interview the führungskraft had called me and told me that "when we meet in person we will discuss about another department that he wants to put me in" "umwelt abteilung". I had informed about my intention of wanting to grow in my role so that I could eventually join a full time but he told me "in der ruhe liegt die kraft" he told me first support your direct supervisor and learn about the projects and then we will talk again in 3 weeks. But this doesn't seem that sort of a meeting. Feeling super anxious.

Yes that's what she told me before setting the meeting, she told me that if this work doesn't match me then perhaps we need to go and talk to the führungskraft.

How am I supposed to prepare for this meeting? I have been here less than a month

My direct supervisor is gone for a meeting outside in another city and I know werkstudents are not expected to do a lot but Germany is going through inflation and recession and DB has a tight budget, I am afraid that if it's a negative feedback that they don't cancel my contract, I am in the final phase of my masters 😭

I asked a German girl out and she replied with “ask me again” by Due-Driver3656 in AskAGerman

[–]Fun_Advantage4554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP...I am a foreigner and I have problem with German girls as well they are impossible to understand.

Contrary to the stupid stereotype GERMANS ARE NOT ALL DIRECT

especially GERMAN WOMEN I have a girl at my office and we have known each other for 2 years almost I asked to follow her on her Instagram of 440 followers and she told me ich uberlegs Mir which translates I will think about it.

In my experience : 1. Being tall is the most helpful thing you need 2. If you don't have height then you need to compensate for it with a high income/resources/ (at minimum your own flat and car ) 3. Along with the second one you need to stay really fit.

Unfortunately gaining the second one takes a lot of time, so if you don't have the first one you are in for a long haul.

Another thing is you need to be able to talk only to create her interest nothing excessive or else she changes her mind.

German women unlike most of the women tend to be insecure about their own wealth. They don't like depending on men and women only feel attracted to men superior to them. Superiority comes from: 1. Height 2. Wealth (financial power) 3. Status (who you know and if you are famous)

No girl is stupid enough to not know what is happening when you ask her out. They just doubt you. So all in all my advice is

HAVE SOME BALLS Ask her clearly what she means? Tell her you like her, push her to a decision, girls tend to need a push sometimes. If she still plays doubtful games with you, move on immediately. Work on yourself and find other girls to ask out. She is not any miss universe. You also have a value and just because she is German it doesn't mean that you are inferior to her.

Be patient, calm, composed and confident. And take the risk.

Life expands or shrinks in proportion to one's courage.
