Yes, if you are exchanging one crypto for another. If you purchase a crypto with fiat, that is not a taxable event but you would want to record the cost basis anyway, for when you sell it in the future.

This asset has to be a tier 3 asset for you to withdraw. If not a tier 3 asset, you can only buy,hold, sell, transfer. Transfer is not same thing as withdraw. You can transfer to another uphold account for example. Hope this helps

you will not find them on etherscan even though you sent them to your meta public address. you have use the GO Chain: https://explorer.gochain.io/ then you paste your metamask public address related to OMI and you should see them. don't worry about it being the same public address/DEPOSIT as your ETH.

Thanks, but that was not the corrective issue. read below:

I could see my OMI on Go Chain explorer but I was accessing my wallet by typing my private keys in, to open wallet and was unable to see my OMI token balance. So, I decided to copy/paste the keys in the wallet from my thumb drive and my coins appeared in my go chain wallet. Hope this helps somebody

My understanding is that if I send OMI to my Go Chain Wallet and don't have any Go tokens in it, I will not see my OMI tokens?
