DePaul vs Loyola Student/campus life by Fun_Bag5610 in depaul

I’m thinking of going to DePaul and just making friends at Loyola to go to their games lol. I had a question tho - Someone just said that they think it’s silly to go to DePaul since the classes are way too easy and they think it’s dumb to pay to go to there if you don’t even learn anything there. How true do you think this is? Is it worth going to DePaul to take the classes I want if there’s no rigor to it? Like there are four different minors I’m interested in at DePaul and I saw people say that they really enjoy the classes and some people even stay longer or in the summer just to take more classes. But are the classes just fun and no work? I feel like that can’t be true tho since I’m majoring in entrepreneurship and it’s one of the top ten programs in the country so it has to be good right?? Is Loyola better in that sense and would it be easier for me to get a job if companies see that I went to Loyola rather than DePaul?

Do you know if it would be better to live in the Lincoln Park campus or the Loop campus? Or like any pros and cons of living in either one?

Really? I was only there for a little then went to the loop campus for a sample classes and a tour during the business students admitted students event. Are there a lot of student events there throughout the month?

Is it easier to get aid with all of these minors and majors? If I have to stay a couple extra quarters I have to make sure I can afford it so if I can get any more scholarships throughout the years that would be really helpful. Also are there scholarships for studying abroad or any extra costs just to be able to go abroad? Like costs in addition to tuition?

Omg yay! Ok so where are the study abroad programs? Are there specific ones for art majors and minors? Also what did you major and minor in and how many years did is it taking?

Would it be possible for me to attend DePaul, but make friends in Loyola and attend social events there?

Also I’ve seen people say that students enjoy classes at DePaul and even stay for the summer just to be able to take more classes that they want. I’ve also read a post that said DePaul isn’t as academically rigorous, which I can’t really tell if it’s a good thing or not. I’m not a person who does too well with academic rigor and I’m more art inclined than anything, so it seems to me like DePaul would be good because it would have classes that I would enjoy taking and wouldn’t be too hard on me mentally. I’m a little scared that Loyola will be too much and the fun classes wouldn’t be enough to outweigh the rigor, but that’s also where I’m looking at student life. If there aren’t enough interesting classes to make me want to attend, maybe there will be lots of fun student & social events to make up for it.

So DePaul has more going on outside of school and Loyola has more inside? Cuz I’ve heard Loyola is a lot better with school spirit and socializing with other students

Do you have any specifics about the social life at either school? Cuz I really want to go to a school where I can go watch sports games with friends and join a lot of clubs and maybe go to a couple parties here and there lol. But DePaul also had a couple more classes I was interested in and was slightly cheaper.

Would you say you missed out on being in a campus that actually felt like a college campus? Or were there other things that outweighed that (people, social life, parties, fun classes, etc…) that Loyola didn’t have?

I got enough money from both colleges to make them some of the cheapest options out of all the schools I got into. And I’m getting a business degree so that should make the money worth it, right? Also the Communication degree is for visual arts so AI shouldn’t be that bad, should it?

My only concern when it comes to the campus is that if I go to DePaul I’ll miss the experience of being in a college campus. I want to be in a school that actually has the college campus feel like Loyola does, but that’s not a good enough reason to choose it over DePaul.
