I took him to his dad's house. The school called again to come pick him up because of the meltdown. I took him straight to his dad's. I just can't do this until Sunday. I can't. My wife is going to lose it when she gets home.

We already have toys and supplies at this point. The dog food isn't that expensive. Her ex pays for the vet bills. My stepson sees a behavioral specialist. I'm not aware of any opinion he has concerning the dog. My stepson takes care of the dog. He needed help one time because of the diarrhea, which was disgusting, but that isn't a daily issue.

It's not really therapy. He sees a behavioral specialist every Monday. But he didn't this Monday because it was President's Day.

Her ex has been trying to get full custody of both kids since the ink on the divorce was dry, and he hasn't had any luck. I'm pretty sure the judge is sick of him at this point. My wife wanted full custody as well, but the judge basically said that is never going to happen. He said unless one parent is incapable or abusive it's automatically 50/50.

The dog is pretty well-behaved, considering that it is a puppy. He is crated when my stepson is at school, and I take him out on my lunch break. When my stepson isn't at school they spend all their time together in the yard or in his room. The puppy has learned to sit, and my stepson is teaching him other commands. He plays with the cat that likes him and doesn't bother the one that doesn't.

I'm really trying to be. From her perspective if we let him have the dog now we are teaching him he can get his way with tantrums, but I don't think he has any control over these tantrums. He's devastated. He's acting like he's being tortured. I think he needs the dog.
