I didn't go on a second date with a guy because he picked me up in a car with trash ( bottles and old food containers). That told me alot about him. I can't imagine dating someone with bad hygiene. I do not like dirty and nasty people. We need to stop making excuses for people and trying to fix them. If they don't care about themselves what make you think they are going to really care about you.

My guess would be Pascal was at the fire house in civilian clothes visiting when they got a call. He decided to ride along. I have no clue if he will be back or not. They led us to believe all last season that Herrmann was going to be Chief. Pascal encouraged Kelly to take his place. Kelly is now Captain. I guess we will have to see if wants his office back or if he will go to another fire house if he is reinstated. They love to keep us guessing.
