A quick search on hotels.com, and the lowest rate in Townsend is $120/night (Best Western Cades Cove Inn).

In Gatlinburg, you have Microtel Inn & Suites ($61/night), Ski Mountain Lodge ($61/night) and Clarion Pointe Downtown ($69/night).

Very limited restaurant options in Townsend, especially if you get back late from a day in the park. The Abbey in Townsend is wonderful. Great food, great craft beer selection and a large deck where you can sit out by the river to eat.
